    19、) 4 1 Scope This European Standard specifies a method of test for the determination of shock absorption characteristics of sports mats types 1 to 8 of EN 12503-1:2013, 9 to 11 of EN 12503-2:2016 and 12 of EN 12503-3:2001. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or in part, are norma

The deceleration profile is processed to yield specified shock absorption paramet

    22、ers. 4 Apparatus 4.1 Indentors Metal indentors in accordance with the essential dimensions and masses are given in Table 1 and Figure 1 and Figure 2.     25、tically. 4.3 Accelerometer An accelerometer rigidly mounted on the indentor as indicated in Figure 1 and Figure 2. 4.4 Data capture and processing Instrumentation to record, display and process the accelerometer signals to produce the required shock absorption parameters, having a channel frequency

    26、class, including the accelerometer, of 1 000 in accordance with ISO 6487and sampling frequency of not less than 10 kHz. 4.5 Thickness measurement Means of measuring the thickness of the mat to an accuracy of ( 5) mm (for types 9 to 11). 5 Test piece 5.1 For mats type 1 to 8 and type 12 the test piec

    27、e is a whole mat laid on a smooth, solid concrete floor measuring at least 1 m 1 m. For mats of type 9 to 11 the test piece is a complete mat ready for use. The mat may be supported on a raised platform in use, but this not part of test specified in this standard. 5.2 For mats type 1 to 8 and type 1

    28、2 the laboratory test floor shall be fully supported concrete (i.e. not a suspended floor) with a minimum thickness of 100 mm. The compressive strength of the concrete shall be not less than 40 MPa when tested in accordance with EN 12390-3. BS EN 12503-4:2016EN 12503-4:2016 (E) 7 Mats of type 9 to 1

    29、1 can be tested on their designated ground. The mat may be supported on a raised platform in use, but this not part of test specified in this standard. 6 Conditioning and test temperature Condition the test piece for a minimum of 24 h at (21 3) C immediately before the test and carry out the test at

    30、 the same temperature. 7 Procedure 7.1 Procedure A (types 1 to 11) Carry out tests on mats types 1 to 8 at the eight locations indicated in Figure 3.     34、ts, a metal frame with dimensions of 450 mm 350 mm and a minimum mass of 5,0 kg shall be placed centrally on the test piece during the tests to ensure that the test piece is flat. For tests on types 9, 10, 11 mats, determine the thickness of the mat (without under construction) centrally along each

    35、side and calculate the mean thickness. Raise the indentor to the required height and lock into position. Release the indentor and allow it to fall vertically onto the test piece. Record the signal from the accelerometer throughout the impact. Display the recorded signal and examine the traces to ens

    36、ure that they contain no spurious peaks, etc. Process the data to obtain the following parameters: a) peak deceleration during the impact (g); b) deflection of the surface (in mm) for mat types 1 to 8, percentage deflection of the surface (in %) for mat types 9 to 12; c) resilience of the tested sur

    37、face, in %. NOTE 1 The velocity and deflection during impact is obtained by successive integration. NOTE 2 Resilience is calculated from the ratio of the squares of the velocities after and before impact, expressed as a percentage. Carry out 10 tests at each test location. Carry out the tests at eac

    38、h location at intervals of 1 min to 2 min. 7.2 Procedure B (type 12) 7.2.1 Homogeneity test Carry out the tests at the eight locations indicated in Figure 6. Carry out the tests using the 78 mm diameter indentor from a fall height of 400 mm. Raise the indentor to the required height and lock into po

    39、sition. Release the indentor and allow it to fall vertically onto the test piece. Record the signal from the accelerometer throughout the impact. Display the recorded signal and examine the traces to ensure that they contain no spurious peaks, etc. Process the data to obtain the peak deceleration va

    40、lue (g). Carry out five tests at each test location. Carry out the tests at each location at intervals of 1 min to 2 min.     45、Expression of results 8.1 Procedure A Each test location being tested 10 times, the retained value for each point is the mean value of the last eight values. Then, calculate the overall mean values, for each parameter, which are the mean values of the values obtained at each of the eight test locati

For types 9 to 11 and for the measurement points 1 to 6 of type 11 express the deflection as a percentage of the mat thickness. 8.2 Procedure B 8.2.1 Homogeneity test Each test location being tested five times, the retained value for each point is the mean value of the last three values. Then,

    47、calculate the difference between each of the eight individual points and the overall mean value. 8.2.2 Shock absorption test Each test location being tested five times, the retained value for each point is the mean value of the last three values. Calculate the overall mean values, for each parameter

    48、, form the mean values of each two series of tests undertaken using similar conditions (B1 B5, B2 B6, B3 B7, B4 B8). 9 Test report The test report shall contain the following: a) reference to this European Standard, EN 12503-4; b) complete identification of the mats tested including type, manufactur

    49、ers reference and date of fabrication; c) the temperature of test; d) the indentor used; e) the fall heights used; f) the thickness of mats type 9, 10, 11; g) the mean values of the parameters measured; h) the individual mean values for each location; i) the individual test values, if required; j) details of any deviation from the procedure.
