EIA IS-43AG 88 m 3234600 0002507 O m 1.0 SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE 1.1 SCOPE NQ-EIA/IS-43AG Page 1 This Detail Specification defines Type 6 Office cable used with

    12、 the Token Ring LAN Cabling System. Type 6 consists of 2 twisted pairs of Data Grade Media (DGM) constructed of flexible stranded conductors, shielded with aluminum tape and braided shields, all cabled into a single PVC jacketed assembly. The Cabling System is intended to be compatible with IEEE Sta

    13、ndard 802.5. It is designed to be used as a total building wiring system. The Cabling System may be used as the communications medium for a Token Ring Network as well as for other data equipment. 1.2 OBJECTIVE The objective of the Detail Specification is to provide a document describing Type 6 cable

    14、 as a basis for certification under the NECQ system and for acquisition of conforming cable. I 2.0 GENERAL DATA 2.1 GENERAL Cable provided under this Detail Specification shall conform to all general and specific requirements applicable to Type 6 cable in Omnibus Specification EIA/IS-43, Exchange Ca

    15、ble for Use with Data Processing Equipment, and those requirements specified herein. 2.2 ORDERING INFORMATION Orders for cable covered by this Detail Specification shall include the following information: 1. The aluminum shield may optionally be placed around each pair individually. A tinned copper bra

    18、ided shield envelops these shielded pairs to complete the DGM core. 3.1.3 FILLERS Fillers may be used to produce a round cable with an appearance suitab.le for office use. 3.1.4 RIP CORD A Rip Cord is not required for this cable. 3.1.5 JACKET The jacket shall be constructed of PVC material and shall
