2、lled. Salient characteristics: This commercial item description covers polyethylene bags suitable for storage and shipment of dental prostheses. The bags shall be supplied in quantities of 100 as size 1 or in quantities of 1000 as size 2. Material. The plastic bags shall be made from polyethylene fi
3、lm material in accordance with ASTM Designation D2103. Material shall be clean, non-colored (essentially colorless) and transparent. The film shall be manufactured by a properly controlled extrusion process to a minimum thickness of 0.0030 inches. Design and construction. The piastic bags shall be u
4、sed for storage and shipment of dental prostheses in a moisture- resistant closure to protect them from dehydration. The plastic bags shall be formed by folding one sheet and shall consist of two side seams. The edges of the side seams shall be paraliel and ali seams shall be parallel with the outer
5、 edges of the bag. The seams shall be sealed by normal heat sealing at a 400 to GOO degree Fahrenheit (OF) temperature range. The opening shali be on the short axis of the bag and shall be identified by a red colored stripe of permanent polyethylene extrusion located on the edge of the interlocking
6、seal flap. The bag shall have a transparent surface which will permit ready identification of its contents. Interlocking seal. The interlocking seai on the bags shall be a single or double track zipper. The interiocking seal shall be positioned not less than 1/2 inch and not more than 3/4 inch, from
7、 the top or opening and shall be heat sealed to the plastic bag film by the same heat sealing process specified for the side seams. As an alternate, the zipper may be an integral part of the plastic film forming the bag. The seal shall be straight and continuous and shall be effected by applying pre
8、ssure with the fingers to the seal area. The plastic interlocking seal shall permit positive repeated opening and closing operations without any resulting impairment to the interlocking feature. 10、 and six (6) inches in length, held to tolerances of plus 1/8 inch or minus 1/16 inch. Seam strength. Seam specimens shall withstand a static load of 3,5 pounds without peel back or slipping of seams when tested as specified herein. Instructions for use. Instructions for use shall be included with e
11、ach unit box. The instructions shall be printed on a separate sheet of white bond or offset paper, measuring 6 $. 112 inches by 4 .E 1/2 inches. 12、ate delivery of finished dentures in a moist atmosphere. Bag may be repeatedly opened and sealed by simple finger pressure. No heat sealing is required. Adequate moisture may be pEovided by inserting a damp cotton ball or other absorbent material, or at most, a teaspoon of water. Avoid excess water

Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase orde
16、r, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed
17、 necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. -Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise O Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governme
18、ncs request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visuai or auditory investigation without
19、 the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemicai properties) of the item. For purposes of sampling, an inspection lot for examination and tests shai consist of ail bags made by the same process from the same component mat

When available, certificates of quality, supplied by the manufacturer of the component or material, listing the specified test method and test recuits obtained, may be furnished in ieu of actual performance

PEoducts manufactured to metric dimensions wii be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch/pounds units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all

If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the toierances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered material in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as amended, and as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 23.4 to the max

Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under normal shipping conditions, handling, etc., involving ship
