This specification covers two grades and two classes of polyvinyl alcohol. 1.2 Classification. Polyvinyl alcohol shall be of the following grades and classes, as specified (see

A lot shall consist of the polyvinyl alcohol of one grade and class produced by one manufacturer, at one plant, from the same ma

Each sample specimen taken in 4.2.2.2 Failure of any test by any specimen shall

The sample containers selected in 4.2.2.3 -shall be tested as specified in 4.2.5 using an AQL of 2.5 percent defective. 4.2.4 Tests. Water in accordance with ASTM D1193 and re

Add 1 ml of a 0.1 percent ethanol solution of phenolphthalein and neutralize with 0.1N sodium hydroxide solution or 0.1N hydrochloric acid, as require

Use sieves conforming to RR-S-366. Nest a No. 10 sieve on top of a No. 20 sieve and place a receiving pan on t

    46、he bottom. 100.0 g of the specimen on the top sieve, cover, and place in a mechanical shaker geared to produce 300 + 20 gyrations and 150 + 10 taps of the striker per minute. Shake for 15 mintes, weigh the specimen retained on each sieve and on the bottom pan and calculate the percent specimen passi

Determine percent passing as specified in (a) except use a No. 80 sieve conforming to RR-S-366 instead of the No. 10 and No. 20 sieves. 4.2.5 Container leakage test.
