National foreword The International Standard ISO 14257:2001 upon which this European Standard is based was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 43/SC 1 “Noise” upon the request of CEN/TC 211 “Acoustics”, with extensive German participation and taki

    6、ng as a basis the English translation of VDI 3760 “Computation and measurement of sound propagation in workrooms”. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Akustik, Lrmminderung und Schwingungstechnik im DIN und VDI (Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engin

    7、eering Standards Committee in DIN and VDI), Working Committee NA 001-02-03 AA Schallausbreitung und Lrmminderung in Gebuden, in Arbeitssttten und im Freien. No modifications have been made to EN ISO 14257:2001. In the German version of EN ISO 14257:2001, only editorial corrections and corrections of

    8、 spelling errors relative to the English versions of EN ISO 14257:2001 and ISO 14257 have been made. Furthermore, in some parts of the text the German translation is more precise than the English versions of EN ISO 14257:2001 and ISO 14257. Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 14257:2002-03 as follows: The following editorial errors have been corrected: a) In the (German) national section information has been added regarding those documents referred t

    11、o in EN ISO 14247:2001 which have been withdrawn and/or replaced, and by which documents these have been replaced (see Bibliography, National Annex NA). b) The numbering of equations was incorrect in the German version of EN ISO 14257:2001, and consequently, the references within the text to these e

    12、quations were incorrect. This has been corrected in the present German version (the English versions of both editions are correct). DIN EN ISO 14257:2011-11 3 The following technical errors have been corrected: a) In Equation (5) of the German version of EN ISO 14257 (incorrectly numbered Equation (

    13、3) in the previous edition), the denominator was not squared, as it is in the English versions of EN ISO 14257:2001 and ISO 14257. This has been corrected in the current German version (both English versions are correct). b) In Equation (7) of the German version of EN ISO 14257 (incorrectly numbered

    14、 Equation (5) in the previous edition), the index of the second term in the addition within the first parentheses was incorrectly given as “I” instead of “i1”, as it is in the English versions of EN ISO 14257:2001 and ISO 14257. This has been corrected in the current German version (both English ver

    32、 in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 211 “Acoustics”, the secretariat of which is held by DS. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2002, and conflicting national stan

    35、 4 Introduction According to ISO 11690-1, the spatial sound distribution in a workroom is described by a curve characterizing the sound pressure level from a point source with a known sound power level, and with steady emission and omnidirectional sound radiation as a function of the distance from t

    36、he source. This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of that spatial sound distribution curve, and for the derivation of two characteristics (rate of spatial decay of sound pressure levels per distance doubling and excess of sound pressure level) for the room in question.

    37、Data obtained using this International Standard are of use for the following: acoustical qualification of a room with respect to noise control; determination of appropriate positions of a machine and of work stations in a room; assessment of the necessity to increase the sound absorption in the room

    38、; qualitative estimation of the potential performance of screens installed in the room; calculation of the noise-immission levels to be expected when machines with known emission are operated at specified positions in the room. DIN EN ISO 14257:2011-11 1 ScopeThis International Standard specifies a

    39、method for measuring the spatial sound distribution curve(s) of a givenworkroom. A method is given for determining, from the measured data, two descriptors of the acousticalperformance of a workroom regarding noise control: i.e. the excess of sound pressure level with respect to a freefield, and the

    40、 sound pressure level decay per distance doubling.This International Standard does not deal with assessment of the acoustical quality with respect to speechcommunication or other psychological factors.This International Standard is applicable to workrooms of any shape and any dimensions provided tha
