11、 masonry elements with a design overlap of 0,4 hu. 4 Amendment to NCI re 8.1.4.1 Amend NA.8 as follows: (NA.8) The masonry units or elements in any course shall be of a uniform height. An additional bed joint is permitted in every other course at the ends of walls and beneath prefabricated component
12、s (such as lintels) for adjustment to the correct length and height (cf. Figure NA.5) provided that the units are not less than 115 mm long and both units and mortar are of at least the same strength as the rest of the masonry. In single-leaf masonry with longitudinal mortar joints the height of the units shall not exceed their width except in the case of units with a height of 175 mm and 240 mm which are required to have a width of not less than 115 mm. The overlap shall be as specified in paragraph (3). Paragraphs (1) and (3) apply by analogy to piers and short walls.
