The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Lichttechnik (Lighting Technology Standards Committe

、e), Technical Committee NA 058-00-20 AA Energetische Bewertung der Lichttechnik in Gebuden. Any EC Directives implemented by national legislation are to be taken into consideration. The implementation of the European Standards referred to in this document may be temporarily restricted by current nat

、ional regulations, with or without reference to national standards. In Germany, Directive 2002/91/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2002 on the energy performance of buildings is implemented by the Energieeinsparverordnung (EnEV) (German Energy Saving Ordinance), which

、refers to national and European Standards and national prestandards which are to be used when implementing the Directive in Germany. The relationship between the calculation methods specified in this European Standard and the methods used in Germany is described in the informative National Annex NA.

、 Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 15193:2008-01 as follows: a) Minor editorial modifications have been made to the national annex. This means that the DIN V 18599 series of standards is to be used when co

、mplying with German building regulations. DIN EN 15193:2008-03 3 Clause 6 of this European Standard describes the calculation of lighting energy in buildings. The methods specified in DIN V 18599-4 are comprehensive methods as in 6.2.2 of this European Standard. The methods and conditions for determ

、ining individual factors are laid down in the prestandards DIN V 18599-4 and DIN V 18599-10 as follows: Consideration of parasitic energy is dealt with in DIN V 18599-4, 5.1. Determination of the installed lighting power is described in DIN V 18599-4, 5.4. Daylight supply factors are described in DI

、N V 18599-4, 5.5. Occupancy is dealt with in DIN V 18599-4, 5.6. Hours of daylight time usage and non-daylight time usage are presented in DIN V 18599-10. DIN EN 15193:2008-03 EN 15193:2007 (E) 5 Introduction This European Standard was devis

、ed to establish conventions and procedures for the estimation of energy requirements of lighting in buildings, and to give a methodology for a numeric indicator of energy performance of buildings. It also provides guidance on the establishment of notional limits for lighting energy derived from refe

、rence schemes. Having the correct lighting standard in buildings is of paramount importance and the convention and procedures assume that the designed and installed lighting scheme conforms to good lighting practices. For new installations the design should be to EN 12464-1. This European Standard a

、lso gives advice on techniques for separate metering of the energy used for lighting that will give regular feedback on the effectiveness of the lighting controls. The methodology of energy estimation not only provides values for the numeric indicator but will also provide input for the heating and

、cooling load impacts on the combined total energy performance of building indicator. Figure 1 gives an overview of the methodology and the flow of the processes involved. It also provides reference schemes to base the targets for energy allocated for lighting usage. This European Standard also provides a methodology for the calculation of instantaneous lighting energy use for the estimation of the total energy performance of the building. Parasitic powers not included in the luminaire are excluded. In this European Standard, the buildings are classified in the
