To determine the initial ame appli-cation time, the preliminary test shall be carried out starting the rst application time at 1 s and increasing it from 1 s in 1 s intervals up to 5 s, applied again for the 10 s mark, 15 s mark and 20 s mark. Propane gas is recommended but butane gas may be used. If butane gas is used it shall be stated in the test report.
