This standard has been prepared in agreement with the DVGW Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V. (German Association of Gas and Water Engineers). It has been included in its bo

8、dy of technical rules and codes of practice for water. In response to the publication of European Standards on drinking water installations developed by Technical Committee CEN/TC 164 “Water supply” which were adopted as national standards (DIN EN 806 series and DIN EN 1717), the German national com

9、mittee decided to review the content of the DIN 1988 series “Codes of practice for drinking water installations” with the intention of preparing a comprehensive and consistent set of standards. To make up for the fact that the standards developed at European level did not reach the depth required by

10、 users in Germany, it was necessary to develop supplemental German Standards which continue to be numbered DIN 1988 for reasons of consistency. Because work on the national supplemental requirements began at different times depending on their necessity, and because new editions of the DIN 1988 stand

11、ards needed to be published to cover areas not dealt with in the European Standards, the DIN 1988 standards cannot all be published at the same time. In order to distinguish the “new” DIN 1988 series from the previous one, the individual parts of the series have now been assigned three-digit numbers

12、. The draft of the present standard was published as E DIN 1988-400 in July 2008. However, the final standard has been assigned the number DIN 1988-100 to reflect the correspondence of the national supplemental requirements with the relevant European Standards. This standard supersedes DIN 1988-4, w

13、hich had to be applied together with DIN EN 1717 for a certain period, and has adopted those specifications of DIN 1988-4 (now withdrawn) that deal with the design and installation of drinking water installations not covered in EN 1717. DIN 1988-100 is only to be used together with DIN EN 1717:2011-

14、08 and contains information on how to apply EN 1717 in Germany. It includes a list of examples of protection units recommended for use in domestic and non-domestic drinking water installations. In contrast to the specifications of National Annex NA to DIN EN 1717:2001-05, backflow prevention devices

15、 at floor level (i.e. installed in main branch pipes) consisting of a check valve and a type D or E anti-vacuum valve as in DIN 3266-1 and DIN 3266-2 are no longer to be considered as safety devices as in this standard. Furthermore, type A (corrosion-protected) water heaters are no longer included h

16、ere, and other specifications have been updated. The list in Annex A includes protection units for domestic and non-domestic applications, sorted in analogy to the fluid categories in DIN EN 1717:2011-08. When connecting electrical washing machines and dishwashers to drinking water installations, DI

17、N EN 61770 (VDE 0700 Part 600) should be observed. It should be noted that the headings of the main clauses have been taken from DIN EN 1717:2011-08 and are supplemented by the present standard. DIN 1988-100:2011-08 4 Amendments This standard differs from DIN 1988-4:1988-12 as follows: a) together w

18、ith the National Annex to DIN EN 1717:2001-05 all specifications have been updated; b) the specifications have been editorially revised; c) DIN EN 1717 has been re-published. 30、ed that the provisions laid down in the Trinkwasserverordnung 1 regarding the quality of drinking water in a drinking water installation are met from the point of delivery up to the draw-off point. Installations not in accordance with this standard or inappropriate operation of the installation can

31、change the drinking water so that it becomes impaired or represents a health hazard. As regards the analysis of risks DIN EN 1717 does not make any distinction between impairment and health hazards. An impairment is understood to be a change in drinking water quality that does not represent a health

32、 hazard, whilst a health hazard is deemed to exist if the water quality changes in such a way that can lead to damage to human health. Changes in drinking water can have a direct or indirect impact on consumers, for example where, for apparatus operated with working or auxiliary materials when conne

33、cted to or integrated into drinking water pipes, in the event of damage there is a risk of substances migrating into the drinking water. For the consumer, this case represents a direct impairment or health hazard if the water drawn from the apparatus (e.g. water heater) is used as drinking water. Ev

34、en if the water drawn from that apparatus is not used as drinking water, an indirect impairment or health hazard can arise; substances that have escaped from a faulty apparatus can flow back in case of malfunction (e.g. as a result of insufficient pressure or pipeburst) and can still be present in t

36、y system and another drinking water system, e.g. one conforming to DIN 2001-1, is not permitted. Any measures to supply drinking water in emergency situations, e.g. for hospitals, shall be agreed on a case-by-case basis with the drinking water supplier and the public health authority, taking into ac

37、count the specifications of DVGW W 216. The connection of non-stationary equipment as in DIN 2001-2 is permitted only where suitable protection units are provided. The Trinkwasserverordnung 1 stipulates that the responsible authorities be notified at least four weeks in advance when a drinking water

38、 installation is put into service in buildings supplying water to the public, when there is a structural or technical modification to such a system or its operation is altered, and when there is a change of owner or use. The connection of a drinking water supply system to a system supplying non-pota

Drinking water shall only be fed via a type AA (unrestricted air gap) or type AB (air gap with overflow non-circular (unrestricted) protection unit as in DIN EN 1717:2011-08, 5.7.3. The protection unit shall be installed outside the non-potable water cistern and/or the ma

The Trinkwasserverordnung 1 stipulates that the responsible authorities shall be notified prior to any commissioning of non-potable water installations in con

Drinking water pipes shall be laid at a distance of at least 0,2 m from site drainage syste

Where the distance between drinking water pipes and sewers is 1 m or less, the drinking water pipes shall not be laid deeper than the wastewater pipes (see Figure 2

Where the outlet of flushing and drainage facilities is so located that there is a risk of backflow of wastewater, there shall be protection against the ingress of water from the outside, and protection against flooding when located in shafts, for example.
