CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntary

    3、 standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational institutions, technical,

    4、 professional and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. The Ministers Advisory Council on CGSB reviews the results of the consensus process. CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Counc

    5、il of Canada as a national standards-writing organization. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as national standards, CG

    6、SB produces standards to meet particular needs, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and national standards developed by CGSB are developed in conformance with the policies described in the Policy Manual for the Development and

    7、 Maintenance of Standards by CGSB. CGSB standards are subject to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. Chan

    8、ges to standards are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of standards. An up-to-date listing of CGSB standards, including details on latest issues and amendments, and ordering instructions, will be found in the CGSB Catalogue, which is published annually and is available wi

    9、thout charge upon request. Although the intended primary application of this standard is stated in its Scope, it is important to note that it remains the responsibility of the users of the standard to judge its suitability for their particular purpose. APPLICABLE PUBLICATIONS The following publications are applicable to this stand

CLASSIFICATION Neckties shall be supplied in the following types, as specified (par. 7.1): Types Type 1 - Four-in-hand Type 2 - Ready-made (clip-on). GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Ties made to this standard shall be free f

    29、rom imperfections and blemishes that may affect their appearance or serviceability. Particulars not covered by this standard In all particulars not covered by this standard or the purchase documents, production and workmanship shall reflect the best commercial standards. Where choice of mass (g/m2)

    30、or type of interlining or ancillary materiais is left to the discretion of the manufacturer or otherwise not covered by this standard or the purchase documents, materials used shall be suitable for the intended purpose and compatible with other materiais used in the necktie. Cutting - Ali shell fabr

    31、ic used in each tie shall be bias-cut and from the same piece of material. Nute: This requirement shall be strictly adhered to. It shall be of one, two or three pieces. Seams and Stitchings The ends of all seams and stitchings and any breaks in thread shall be securely backstitch tacked. The lengthw

    32、ise joining seam shall be chainstitched with not less than two stitches per centimetre.     34、 unless otherwise specified (par. 7.1). For Type 2 ties the simulated knot and length from knot shall be in accordance with Figure 2. Design - Ties shall be either four-in-hand (Type 1, Figure 1) or ready-made clip-on (Type 2, Figure 2). All ties shall be self-faced or tipped to match the shell mate

    35、rial. Optional Feature - The following optional feature illustrated in this standard shall - not be incorporated in the necktie unless so specified (par. 7.1): a. Three buttonhole tie-down arrangement (Figure 3) for securing the tie over shirt buttons. ( Materials Shell Material - The shell material

    36、 shall be in accordance with TEXT 4-3-4 unless otherwise specified (par. 7.1). Interlining - The interlining shall be a 212 to 220 g/m2 material, natural colour, napped finish. Note: Napping of fabrics raises suacefibres, imparting bulk. Construction of the fabric shall be as given below: Warp yarn

    37、59 tex, 16 ends per centimetre, 5060% polyester/viscose Weft yarn 74 tex, 13 picks per centimetre, 50/50% polyesterhiseose. Sewing Thread - The sewing thread shall be in accordance with CGSB standard 4-GP-131 Type 1. The colour shall match and shall have colourfastness properties equal to the shell

    38、material. Clip (Type 2) - A commercially available hinged metal clip similar to that illustrated in Figure 2. Plastic clips are - not permitted, unless otherwise specified (par. 7.1). Construction Where a four-in-hand tie is made from two or three pieces, the joining seams shall be pressed open and

    39、positioned as shown in Figure 1. The width of the shell material shall be folded in half, face to face, to form two plies and the two raw edges joined together, securing in the same operation a bias-cut interlining. The seam stitching shall be centred on the interlining, the ends of the seam shall b

    40、e secured by tacking for not less than 2.5 cm at each end. The interlining shall be the full width of the tie and the length as shown in Figure 1. The tie shall then be turned outside out. ( Assembly (Type 2) - Type 2 tie shall be assembled from Type 1 tie, constructed as per par. 5.4.2 above, with

    41、the simulated knot and length from knot conforming to the dimensions of Figure 2. The tie shall be securely attached to the clip by hand stitching or an alternative method acceptable to the purchaser. Buttonholes (Optional) - The buttonholes (par. 5.2.1) applicable to both Types 1 and 2 ties, shall

    42、be located on the narrow end of the tie, positioned as in Figure 3. The buttonholes shall be of the shirt buttonhole constmction, sewn with not less than 11 stitches per centimetre. Pressing - Ties shall be properly pressed in accordance with good commercial neckwear practice and to the satisfaction

    43、 of the purchaser. Marking - Each tie shall have a loop label secured into the seam not less than 20.3 cm from the bottom of the wide end of the tie. The label shall be permanently marked with the manufacturers name or recognized trademark and such other details as may be required (par. 7.1). PREPAR

    44、ATION FOR DELIVERY Unless otherwise specified (par. 7.1), normal commercial practice of packaging and packing shall be acceptable. Details of the number of ties contained in one package shall be as specified (par. 7.1). It is the manufacturers responsibility to ensure that goods are packaged in a su
