    18、 receives, decodes, and presents audio and video material that has been transmitted in a compressed form.     22、ance Notation As used in this document, “shall” and “must” denote a mandatory provisions of the standard. “Should” denotes a provision that is recommended but not mandatory. “May” denotes a feature whose presence does not preclude compliance that may or may not be present at the option of the implem

    23、enter. “Optional” denotes items that may or may not be present in a compliant implementation. 3. APPLICATION PROFILES Table 4 on page 16 defines DTV requirements for compatibility with source devices supplying audio/video streams meeting requirements in four different application areas, ATSC Terrest

    24、rial Broadcast, US cable, Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS), and Standard Definition (SD) Digital Video (DV) camcorders. NOTE: while the signal arriving at the source device is a full transport stream, the source device may (in accordance for example with 14 or 24) delete some transport packets when

    25、transferring data across the 1394 bus. 3.1 ATSC Terrestrial Broadcast To be compatible with a source device supplying Transport Streams received off-air from an ATSC Digital Terrestrial Broadcast, a DTV shall meet the requirements stated in the following sections. 6 CEA-849-B Copyright Consumer Elec

MPEG-2 transport packets are carried in the Common Isochronous

    27、Packet (CIP) structure defined in IEC 61883-1 12, time-stamped and packetized as specified in IEC 61883-4 14. Transport for ATSC Terrestrial Broadcast is further defined and constrained in ATSC A/53, Part 3:2007 1 Annex C. 3.1.2 Service Structure ATSC Terrestrial Broadcast conforms to the service st

    28、ructure defined in MPEG-2 Systems 19, Sec. 2.4.4, Program Specific Information (PSI). PSI tables include the Program Association Table (PAT) and the TS Program Map Table (PMT). 3.1.3 Service Information ATSC Terrestrial Broadcast Transport Streams include Service Information (SI) in accordance with

    29、ATSC A/65C 4 PSIP. PSIP data may or may not be present in the Transport Stream provided on the 1394 bus by a source device. Whether or not SI is present, the method defined in CEA-775-C 6 Sec. 11.1 is used by the DTV to select a service for decoding and display. 3.1.4 Video ATSC Terrestrial Broadcas

    30、t Transport Streams include video elementary streams conformant to ATSC A/53, Part4:2007 2. Video bit rates for Terrestrial Broadcast can be as high as 19.4 Mbps (corresponding to a video sequence header bit_rate_value not to exceed 48500). 3.1.5 Audio ATSC Terrestrial Broadcast Transport Streams in

    31、clude audio elementary streams conformant to ATSC A/53, Part 5:2007 3. 3.1.6 Copy Protection Users of this standard should also note that, at some future point, copy protection parameters, methods and/or standards are expected to be established with which copy-protected content originating from ATSC

    32、 Terrestrial Broadcast and traversing the DTV 1394 interface will be required to comply. 3.1.7 Closed Captions ATSC Terrestrial Broadcast Transport Streams transport closed captioning data in picture user data in accordance with ATSC A/53, Part 4:2007 2. The caption data itself conforms to CEA-708-C

    34、cense from IHS-,-,-3.2 US Cable To be compatible with a source device supplying Transport Streams compliant with the 1394 interface specifications defined by US cable, a DTV shall accommodate and decode the formats defined in sections 3.2.1 through 3.2.7, and may support closed captioning as defined

    35、 in section 3.2.8. 3.2.1 Transport US cable uses MPEG-2 Transport defined in MPEG-2 Systems 19. MPEG-2 transport packets are carried in the Common Isochronous Packet (CIP) structure defined in IEC 61883-1 12, time-stamped and packetized as specified in IEC 61883-4 14. US cable transport is further d

    36、efined and constrained in SCTE 54 2006 22. 3.2.2 Service Structure US cable conforms to the service structure defined in MPEG-2 Systems 19, Sec. 2.4.4, Program Specific Information (PSI). PSI tables include the Program Association Table (PAT) and the TS Program Map Table (PMT). 3.2.3 Service Informa

    37、tion US cable Transport Streams may include Service Information (SI) in accordance with ATSC A/65C 4 per Sec. 5.7.1 of SCTE 54 2006 22. Whether or not SI is present, the method defined in CEA-775-C 6 Sec. 11.1 is used by the DTV to select a service for decoding and display. 3.2.4 Video US cable vide

    38、o conforms to MPEG-2 Video 20. Allowed compression, video formats and frame rates are specified and constrained in ANSI/SCTE 43 2005 23 Sec. 5.1.2 and are summarized in CEA-818-E 25 Part II, Sec 5.3.     42、as 38.8 Mbps (corresponding to a video sequence header bit_rate_value not to exceed 97000). 3.2.5 Audio US cable audio conforms to ATSC A/53, Part 5:2007 3. 3.2.6 Copy Protection US cable specifications state that compliant terminal devices must support the copy protection requirements as defined by

    43、 Section 4.3.3.3 of ANSI/SCTE 26 2004 21 for the IEEE 1394 16 and IEEE 1394A-2000 27 interface. 1Note that 1088 lines are actually coded in order to satisfy the MPEG-2 requirement that the coded vertical size be a multiple of 16 (progressive scan) or 32 (interlaced scan).     45、 External Jack Selection (formerly known as Analog/Digital source selection) mechanism defined in CEA-775-C 6, Sec. 7.11. 3.2.8 Closed Captions (Informative) Closed captions for US cable are delivered in accordance with Sec. 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 of ANSI/SCTE 43 2005 23. Users of this Standard should refe

    46、r to the FCC rules 7 specifying requirements for transmission and processing of closed captioning data. 3.3 Direct Broadcast Satellite To be compatible with a source device supplying Transport Streams received from a DBS satellite Integrated Receiver-Decoder (IRD), a DTV shall accommodate and decode

    47、 the formats defined in sections 3.3.1 through 3.3.6 and may support closed captioning formats described in section 3.3.7. A number of MPEG transport-based satellite delivery systems are currently in use, including DISH Network operated by DISH Network Corporation and StarChoice operated by Motorola

DIRECTV is similar in many respects to MPEG-2 but uses a different transport coding method. 3.3.1 Transport Direct Broadcast Satellite uses two transport formats: 3.3.1.1 MPEG-2 Transport defined in MPEG-2 Systems 19 MPEG-2 transport packets are carried in the Common Isochronous Packet (CIP) structure defined in IEC 61883-1 12, time-stamped and packetized as specified in IEC 61883-4 14. 3.3.1.2 DIRECTV Transport Format DIRECTV transport is
