First store

    29、y refers to the uppermost storey having its floor level not more than 2 m above grade. Bathroom - any room containing a toilet, urinal, bidet, bathtub, or shower. Building envelope - the surfaces, formed by all components of the building, that enclose the conditioned votume. Conditioned volume - the

    30、 total interior volume of all storeys, including the basement, but excluding any attached or built-in garage or crawl space. Dwelling unit - a suite operated as a housekeeping unit, used or intended tc be used as a domicile by one or more persons, and containing cooking, eating, living, steeping, an

    31、d sanitary facilities. Exhaust air - air removed from a space such that it will not be reused. Exhaust air heat recovery device - a unit or system that incorporates a means to extract heat from exhaust air, including but not limited to heat recovery ventilators, and refrigeration -cyc le eq u i pme

    32、n t . Habitable room - a space or room designed for human occupancy, such as a bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, recreation room, or den. Heat recovery ventilator - a system or unit that incorporates a means to circulate air for ventilation and the provision to transfer heat b

    33、etween two isolated air streams. Installing contractor - an individual or company that carries on the business of, or whose business includes, installing or servicing ventilation equipment, including those who agree to install or service ventilation equipment which they sell or lease. Kitchen - any

    34、area in which cooking and meal-preparation activities take place, whether or not enclosed by walls. In the absence of such walls, the area may be considered not to extend beyond 1 rn from any kitchen counter or appliance. Make-up air - outdoor air supplied to replace exhaust air. Minimum ventilation

    35、 capacity - the minimum rate, averaged over a 24 h period, at which the ventilation system is capable of supplying ventilation air. Nonducted fans - fans intended for mounting at the house envelope with no duct-work except for integral sleeves and inner and outer protective coverings. Occupied zone

    36、- the region within an occupied space between the floor and 1800 mrn above the floor and more than 600 rnm from the walls. Outdoor air - air from the external atmosphere taken into the dwelling unit that has not previously been circulated through the Ventilation system. Outdoor winter design tempera

    37、ture - the January 2-1/2% value as given in the Supplement to the Natiunal Building Code of Canada. October 1993 (Replaces p. 13, April 1991) 13 CAN/CSA- F326- M9 1 Packaged ventilator - a factory-assembled unit which incorporates a means to ventilation air and/or to remove exhaust air, and is inten

    38、ded for continuous or intermittent operation, such as exhaust-air heat-recovery devices, make-up air un exhaust fans. Purchaser - the person or persons having ownership or control following the completion of the installation. supply ts, and Recirculated air - air removed from the conditioned space a

    39、nd intended for reuse as supply air, and that component of supply air that has been taken from the conditioned space. Reference exhaust flow rate - the exhaust flow rate used to determine the likely level of depressurization of the house caused by operation of the ventilation system along with other

    40、 exhaust devices. Relief air - indoor air removed to the outside via a specific route in order to relieve an increase of pressure in the dwelling unit relative to outside, owing to an excess of outdoor air intake flows over exhaust air flows. Return air - air removed from a space to be recirculated

    41、or exhausted. Supply air - air delivered to the conditioned space and used for ventilation, heating, cooling, humidification, or dehumidification. Utility room - a room containing laundry or maintenance equipment and materials, or used as a workshop. Vented combustion appliance - a fuel-burning furn

    42、ace, boiler, heater, clothes dryer, fireplace, or any other device that is connected to a chimney or vent for the purpose of exhausting products of combustion to the outdoors. Ventilation -the process of supplying and/or removing air by natural or mechanical means to and from any space. Ventilation

    43、air - that portion of supply air that is outdoor air. Ventilation components - equipment and materials used in supplying or exhausting air for ventilation purposes, whether or not parts of a ventilation system conforming to this Standard. Ventilation system - all the components installed for the pur

    44、pose of meeting the requirements of this Standard. 3.
