    2、has been developed is a govenunent agency within the Fedd Department of Supply and Services. CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntary standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standatds committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of represe

    3、ntatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational institutions, technical, professional and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representa

    4、tives. The Ministers Advisory Council on CGSB reviews the resuits of the consensus process. CGSB has been accreditad by the Standards Council of Canada as a national standards-writing organization. The standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and

    5、procedures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. in addition to standards it publishes as national standards, CGSB produces standards to meet particular needs, in response to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and

    6、 national staodards developed by CGSB are developed in conforniance with the policies described in the Policy Manual for the Development and Maintenance of Standads by CGSB. CGSB standards are subject to review and revision at any time, so as to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progres

    7、s. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards committees concerned. Changes to standards are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of standards. An up-to-date listing of CGSB standards, including details on la

    8、test issues and amendments, and ordering instructions, will be found in the CGSB Catalogue, which is published annually and is available without charge upon request. Although the intended primary application of this standard is stated in its Scope, it is important to note that it remains the respons

    9、ibility of the users of the standard to judge its suitability for their particuiar putpose. Many tests required by CGSB standards are inherently hazardous.     29、itions apply in this standard9 Deck (Plancher A flat horizontal surface, either slatted or solid. The top deck is the load-carrying surface and the bottom deck is the mass-disibuting surface. Pailet (Palette) A horizontal platform used as a base for assembling, storing, handling and transporting mat

    30、erials and products as a unit load. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS Maximum Number of Pallets in a Stack* 4.1 Design - Pallets used shall be in accordance with the Pallet Manufacturing and Repair Specifica

    33、 must be compatible with the strap. The strength of the sealed joint shali be at least 40% of the breaking strength of the srapping when tested in accordance with ASTM D 3950. Stretch Wrapping - The filled boxes shall be loaded onto pailets as given in par. 4.2 and stretch wrapped. The stretch film

    34、shall be at least 0.02 mm thick, clear and weatherable. (For infomation on the selection of stretch film, see ASTM D 4649.) The stretch film shall be applied using at least a semi-automatic machine with a pre-stretching feature. It shall be wrapped at least three times full web or at least three tim

    35、es around the top and the bottom and shail spiral up the sides with a 50% fiim overlap. The stretch film shall overiap at least 10 cm beyond the edge of the top and on the paliet. 4.4 5.
