InternationalStandardsaredraftedinaccordancewiththerulesgivenintheISO/IECDirectives,Part3. DraftInte

    18、rnationalStandardsadoptedbythetechnicalcommitteesarecirculatedtothememberbodiesforvoting. PublicationasanInternationalStandardrequiresapprovalbyatleast75%ofthememberbodiescastingavote. AttentionisdrawntothepossibilitythatsomeoftheelementsofthisInternationalStandardmaybethesubjectof patentrights.ISOs

    19、hallnotbeheldresponsibleforidentifyinganyorallsuchpatentrights. InternationalStandardISO1007waspreparedbyTechnicalCommitteeISO/TC42, Photography. Thisthirdeditioncancelsandreplacesthesecondedition(ISO1007:1995)whichhasbeentechnicallyrevised. ThisrevisionofISO1007includesthefollowingsignificantadditi

    20、onsandchanges: a) AclausefordefinitionshasbeenaddedinordertoassistthereaderofthisInternationalStandardintheproper interpretationoftheinformationpresented. b) Aspecificationhasbeenaddedforthesingle-trackframe-numberbar-codes,specificallytherelationshipofthe eye-readableframe-numbertoitsbar-code. c) I

    21、nthedual-trackframe-numberbar-codesystem,encodingofframenumbersgreaterthan36Ahasbeen incorporated. d) Theelementwidthforthedual-trackframe-numberbar-codehasbeenchangedtoallowelementwidthstobe “narrower”thaninthepreviouseditionofthisInternationalStandard. e) Themagazinebar-codesystemhasbeenmodifiedto

    22、allowforadditionalfilmlengths(digit6),aswellasa changetodigit1foradditionalflexibility. f) Sincepartof9.3(DCelectricalcharacteristics)wasjudgedtoapplytothetestdevice(asopposedtothe magazineitself),ithasbeenmovedtoinformativeannexB.Itisnowconsistentwiththephilosophythattest methodsgenerallybedocument

    23、edonlyininformativeannexes. g) ThetextregardinghowmanufacturersshallbeassignedDXnumbershasbeenimprovedsignificantly.Anew methodofusingthemagazinebarcodeshasbeenaddedtoallowadditionalflexibility. h) SeveralissuesthatwereincludedintheinformativeannexesofthesecondeditionofthisInternational Standardwere
