    20、s International Standard is one of a series which deals with flexible insulating sleeving for electrical purposes. The series consists of three parts: Part 1: Definitions and general requirements (IEC 60684-1); Part 2: Methods of test (IEC 60684-2); Part 3: Specifications for individual types of sle

    21、eving (IEC 60684-3). This standard contains three of the sheets comprising Part 3, as follows: Sheet 406: Glass textile sleeving with PVC coating: high breakdown voltage. Sheet 407: Glass textile sleeving with PVC coating: medium breakdown voltage. Sheet 408: Glass textile sleeving with PVC coating:

Page4 EN606843406to408:2003FLEXIBLE INSULATING SLEEVING Part 3: Specifications for individual types of sleeving Sheets 406 to 408: Glass textile sleeving with PVC coating 1 Scope This standard gives the requirements for E-type glass sleeving using either braided or knitted co

    23、nstruction with a continuous flexible coating based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or its copolymers or blends thereof. These sleevings have been found suitable up to temperatures of 105 C. The sleeving is normally available with internal diameters between 0,3 mm and 25 mm and is normally supplied in t

    24、he following colours : black, white, red, yellow, blue, brown, green, grey, orange, pink and green/yellow. Sizes or colours other than those specifically listed in this standard may be available as custom items. These items shall be considered to comply with this standard if they comply with the oth

    25、er property requirements listed in Tables 2 and 5, except for dimensions, and, where applicable, in Table 3. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual r

    26、equirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.     30、uired to differentiate between sleeving which is braided and sleeving which is knitted, the appropriate word shall be added as shown above. The addition of “X“ at the end of the designation indicates that the special requirement in Table 3 has been agreed and is included in the purchase contract. An

    31、y abbreviation used for colour shall comply with IEC 60757. NC is used for “Natural Colour / No Colour pigmentation”. Where no abbreviation is given, the colour shall be written in full. 4 Requirements 4.1 Standard requirements In addition to the general requirements given in IEC 60684-1, the sleevi

    32、ng in the sizes normally available shall comply with the requirements in Tables 1, 2 and 5. 4.2 Special requirements If sleeving is to be supplied with the property specified in Table 3, it shall also comply with the appropriate requirement of Table 3. 5 Sleeving conformance Sleeving conformance sha
