    30、sandwichedbetweentwoidenticalmetalcylinderswhicharemountedwiththeiraxes vertical.Atestspecimenisplacedonthetopsurfaceoftheuppercylinderandathirdidenticalmetalcylinderis placedontopofthetestspecimensothatallthecylindersandthetestspecimenareconcentricallyaligned.The heatsourceisswitchedonandthetempera

    31、turesofthethreeblocksallowedtoreachequilibrium.Thethermal conductivityofthetestspecimenisthendeterminedfromthesteadystatetemperaturesofthethreeblocks,the exposedsurfaceareasoftheblocksandtestspecimenandthethicknessofthetestspecimen. 6.2Procedure 6.2.1 Usethethicknessgauge(4.3)tomeasurethethickness S

    32、,inmm,atthecentreofeachtestspecimenand recordthesetwovaluestothenearest0,05mm.EN13521:2001(E) 7 6.2.2 Ensurethattheheaterassembly(4.1.2)ismountedverticallysothatblockB2isaboveblockB3,see Figure1.PlacetheapparatusinatemperaturecontrolledatmosphereasspecifiedinEN12222andpositionitso thataircancirculat

    33、efreelyaroundtheassembly. 6.2.3 PlaceoneofthetestspecimensontotheuppersurfaceofblockB2andcarefullyresttheblockB1ontop ofthetestspecimen.Thesurfaceofthetestspecimenwhichwillbenearestthefootshallbeplacedagainstblock B2sothatitisclosesttotheheaterelement.AdjustthepositionsoftheblockB1andthetestspecimen

    34、untilthey arebothconcentricallyalignedwiththeheaterassembly(4.1.2). 6.2.4 Switchonthepowersupplyunit(4.1.4)andadjustuntilitisdeliveringsufficientpowertoheatthebrass cylindricalblocks,B2andB3,toasteadystatetemperatureof35 C5C.
