    24、naccuracyof0,5%. 5.2Equipment forthedeterminationofthedimensionsofpreformedpipeinsulation(see7.2). 6Testspecimens 6.1Dimensionsoftestspecimens Thetestspecimensshallbefullsizeproductsorpartsofthem,ortestspecimensusedforothertests. Whentheapparentoveralldensityisbeingdeterminedusingtestspecimenscutfro

    25、maproductwith surfaceskinsformedduringproduction,theratiooftheareaofthesurfaceskintothetotalvolumeshall bethesameforthetestspecimenasfortheproduct. NOTEThesizeofatestspecimenshouldpreferablybeaslargeaspossible,commensuratewiththeapparatusEN13470:2001(E) 5 availableandwiththeshapeoftheoriginalproduct

    26、.Thesizeofthetestspecimensmayalsobe specifiedinothertestmethods. 6.2Numberoftestspecimens Thenumberoftestspecimensforfullsizeproductsshallbeasspecifiedintherelevantproductstandard. Iftestspecimensfromothertestsareused,thenumbershallbeasspecifiedinthetestmethod.Ifthe numberisnotspecified,thenatleastt

    27、hreetestspecimensshallbeused. NOTEIntheabsenceofaproductstandardoranyotherEuropeantechnicalspecificationthenumberoftestspeci mensmaybeagreedbetweenparties. 6.3Preparationoftestspecimens Thetestspecimensshallbecutbymethodsthatdonotchangetheoriginalstructureoftheproduct. Thelocationfromwhichthetestspe

    28、cimensaretakenshallbesuchthatthedensityobtainedis representativeofthedensityoftheproduct. Fordeterminingtheapparentoveralldensity,anyfacingsand/orcoatingsshallberemovedfromthe product.Fordeterminingtheapparentcoredensity,anysurfaceskinsformedduringproductionandany facingsand/orcoatingsshallberemoved

    29、fromtheproduct. Whenitisnotpossibletoremovethefacingsand/orcoatingswithoutinfluencingtheapparentdensityof theproduct,themassofthefacingsand/orcoatingsshallbedeductedbycalculation. NOTESpecialmethodsofpreparation,whenneeded,aregivenintherelevantproductstandard. 6.4Conditioningoftestspecimens Thetests

    30、pecimensshallbeconditionedat(232) Cand(505)%relativehumidityuntilconstant massisachieved. Thetimeforconditioningandtherequiredaccuracyoftheconstantmassmeasurementsshallbegivenin therelevantproductstandard. NOTE1Ifitcanbeshownthattemperatureandhumidityhasnegligibleinfluenceonthedeterminationofthe den

NOTE2Theconditioningtimecanbeshortenedbypredryingthetestspecimeninaventilateddryingchamberata prescribedtemperature.Appropriateproceduresmaybegivenintherelevantproductstandard. 7Procedure 7.1Testconditions Thetestshallbecarriedoutat(232) Cand(505)%re

NOTEIfitcanbeshownthattemperatureandhumidityhasnegligibleinfluenceonthedeterminationofthedensity, thetestingcanbecarriedoutat(235) C. 7.2Testprocedure MeasurethelineardimensionsoffullsizeproductsandtestspecimensinaccordancewithEN13 467. Calculatethevolumesofthetestspecimensfromthesem

    33、easurements. Weigheachtestspecimentoanaccuracyof0,5%andrecorditsmassinkilogrammes. Ifthefacingsand/orcoatingsareretained,themassoftheproductshallbecalculatedbydeductingthe massofthefacingsand/orcoatingsandadhesives,ifany,fromtheoverallmass.EN13470:2001(E) 6 Ifahigheraccuracyfordimensionsoffullsizepr

    34、oductsisneeded,itshallbespecifiedintherelevant productstandard. 8Calculationandexpressionofresults Calculatetheapparentoveralldensity, a ,orapparentcoredensity, c ,inkilogrammespercubicmetre usingtheequation: (1) where: misthemassofthetestspecimen,inkilogrammes; Visthevolumeofthetestspecimen,incubic
