    20、kagingandpackagingwastematerials.IthasbeenpreparedbyexpertsintheWorkingGroupCEN/TC261/SC 4/WG3“Materialrecovery“. Materialrecyclingofusedpackagingshouldbeseenwithintheoveralllifecycleofproductsandpackaging.The purposeofpackagingisthecontainment,protection,distributionandpresentationofproductsincludi

    21、nginstructions astotheiruse.Amajorroleisoneofpreventionofdamage/wastageoftheproductcontainedinthepackaging. Followingitsfunctionalrole,thepackagingwasteisrequiredtobesuitableforrecoverythroughatleastoneofthe wastemanagementoptionasdescribedinEN13427.Oneofthisoptionismaterialrecycling. TheWorkingGrou

    22、pWG3hasproducedEN13437whichdefinestherecyclingprocessforpackagingintheform ofaseriesofflowdiagrams.ThisEuropeanStandardusesthegeneralformoftheflowdiagramfromthatstandard tomakeitsproposals.TheproposalismadewithinthecontextofthePackagingandPackagingWasteDirective 94/62/EC.AnnexAshowshowtheprinciplesm
