22、stsshallbecarriedoutinanareawheretheaircirculationislessthan0,2m/s.EN13409:2002(E) 5 7 Apparatusandmaterials 7.1 Vicatapparatus,inaccordancewithEN1963(seeFigure1)withasteelneedle,length(501)mm, diameter(1,130,05)mm,andattachmentmadefromcorrosionresistantmetal. Thetotalmassofthemovingpartsshallbe(300
23、1)g.Theirmovementshallbetrulyverticalonanaxiscoincident withthesteelneedleandwithoutsignificantfriction. 7.2 Mould(seeFigure1a),containingthemixtureundertestshallbemadeofhardrubber.Itshallbeof truncatedconicalform(40,00,2)mmdeepandshallhaveinternaldiametersattopandbottomof(705)mm and(805)mmrespectiv
24、ely. Theapparatusshallbesufficientlyrigidandplacedonaplaneglassplatelargerthanthemouldandatleast2,5mm thick. Mouldsofmetalorplasticsorofcylindricalformcanbeusedprovidedtheyareofthespecifieddepthandthatthey canbeshowntogivethesametestresultsasthespecifiedhardrubbermouldoftruncatedconicalform. 7.3 Tim

26、 Determinationofinitialsettingtime Lightlygreasetheglassplateandthemould.Whenthestandardmixingprocedureiscompletedinaccordancewith EN1937,fillthemouldimmediatelywithoutunduecompactionorvibrationandstartthetimer.Usingastraightedge implementremovetheexcesswithagentlesawingactiontoleaveaflatsmoothsurfa
27、ce. Placethetestspecimencentrallyundertheneedle. Whenthesmoothingand/orlevellingcompoundmixtureisshowingsignsofsettinglowertheneedlegentlyuntilitisin contactwiththesurface.Pauseinthatpositionforbetween1sand2sinordertoavoidinitialvelocityorforced accelerationofthemovingparts. Thenreleasequicklyandall
28、owtheneedletopenetrateverticallyintothesmoothingand/orlevellingcompound. Readthescalewhenpenetrationhasceasedorafter30safterthereleaseoftheneedlewhicheverisearlier. Recordthescalereadingwhichindicatesthedistancebetweentheendoftheneedleandthebaseplatetogetherwith thetimefromzero. Removeandcleanthenee
29、dle. Repositionthetestspecimensothatthenextpointofpenetrationisatadistancegreaterthan10mmfromtheedge orofanyprevioustest.
