    20、tspecimensarethen immersedinselectedliquid(s)andthepropertiesdeterminedagain.Thepercentagechangeor thevaluesbeforeandafterimmersionaremeasuresoftheresistanceofthematerialtothe selectedliquid(s). 4Testliquidsformethods1and2 Ascommercialliquidsmaynothaveanentirelyconstantcomposition,astandardimmersion

    21、 liquidconsistingofwelldefinedchemicalcompoundsormixtureofcompoundsshallbeused. SomesuitableliquidsarerecommendedinannexA(informative). Whenacommercialliquidisused,thetestreportshallmentionalltheavailableinformation aboutitsorigin,composition,properties,e.g.viscosity,anilinepoint,etc.,andbatchnumber

    22、.EN12759:2001(E) 4 NOTEFortestpurpose,itisusuallydesirabletousetheliquid(s)withwhichthecoated fabricwillcomeintocontactduringuse.Whentestingtodeterminetheeffectofchemical solutions,theconcentrationofthesolutionsshouldbeappropriatetotheproposedapplication. WARNINGAppropriatesafetyprecautionsshouldbet

    23、akenwhenpreparingandhandlingtest liquids,especiallythoseknowntobetoxic,corrosiveorflammable.Productsgivingofffumes shouldbehandledonlyunderanefficientlyventilatedhood,corrosiveproductsshouldnotbe allowedtocomeintocontactwiththeskinorordinaryclothing,andflammableproducts shouldbekeptawayfromanysource

Inaddition,attentionisdrawntothepossibledamagingoftestequipment(e.g.clampsor jaws)whenusingcorrosivetestliquids. 5Testconditionsformethods1and2 5.1Temperature Useatesttemperatureapproximatingthosefoundduringuse.Maintainthetest temperature( T)at T 2C. Unlessotherwisespecifiedoragreedupon,

    25、testtemperature( T)shouldbeoneofthestandard temperaturesgiveninannexB. 5.2Immersionperiod Thefollowingimmersionperiodsarerecommended: 22h 0,25h;46h 0,25h;72h 2h;168h 2h;multiplesof7days 2h. NOTEWhentestingforchangesinphysicalproperties,itisadvisabletousesuchaperiodof immersionthatequilibriumisallowe

    26、dtobereached.Todefinethisequilibrium,itis recommendedtocarryoutpreliminarymeasurementswithseveralperiodsofimmersion, recordingtheresultsasafunctionoftime.Wheneverpracticable,thetotalimmersionperiod shouldbechosentoextendfarbeyondthepointofmaximumvariation. 5.3Light Immersiontestsshallbeconductedinth

    27、eabsenceofdirectlight. 5.4Timelapsebetweenmanufacturingandtesting Theminimumtimelapsebetweenmanufacturingandtestingshallbe16h.EN12759:2001(E) 5 6Conditioningatmosphereformethods1and2 Testspecimensshallbeconditionedbeforeimmersioninoneoftheatmospheresin accordancewithENISO2231,unlessotherwisespecifie

    28、dinthestandardrelevanttothe propertytobetested. 7Apparatusformethods1and2 Theapparatustobeusedisdeterminedbythetemperatureofimmersion,thevolatilityofthe testliquidandthenumberanddimensionsofthetestspecimensrequiredfortestingthe selectedproperty.Attemperaturesappreciablybelowtheboilingpointofthetestl

    29、iquid,usea stopperedvessele.gglassbottle,tube,ofsuchdimensionsthatthetestspecimensremain completelyimmersedinthespecifiedvolumeoftestliquidandarefreelyexposedonall surfaceswithoutrestraint.Attemperaturesneartheboilingpointofthetestliquid,fitthe vesselwitharefluxcondenserorothersuitablemeansofminimis

    30、ingevaporationofthetest liquid,insteadofthestopper. 8Method1Changeofphysicalpropertiesafterimmersionintestliquid. 8.1Preparationoftestspecimens Selectpropertiesthatareconsideredrelevanttotheenduse(forexample:tensilestrength, coatingadhesion,mass perunitarea,tearresistance,lowtemperatureproperties,et

    31、c.). Cutintheusablewidthoftheroll(accordingtoENISO22861)twosetsoftestspecimens foreachpropertyasspecifiedintherelevantENorISOstandard. Conditionallthetestspecimensaccordingtoclause6. 8.2Determinationoforiginalpropertiesbeforeimmersion Determinetheselectedpropertiesonthefirstsetoftestspecimensusingth

    32、erespectiveENor ISOstandards(seeclause2). 8.3Immediatepropertiesafterimmersion 8.3.1Immersion Placethetestspecimens,suitablyseparated,inavesselasdescribedinclause7,witha volumeoftestliquid(clause4)thatshallbeatleast15timesthecombinedvolumeofthetest specimensandsufficienttokeepthemtotallyimmersed.Ift

    33、heconditionsoftestdonot necessitatetheuseofarefluxcondenser,stopperthevessel.Maintainthetestliquidatthe testtemperature( T)duringalltheexposureperiod,withinatoleranceof 2C.EN12759:2001(E) 6 8.3.2Preparationbeforetesting Attheendoftheimmersionperiod,bringthetestspecimens,ifnecessary,tothestandard tes

    34、tingtemperature,preferablybyquicklytransferringthemtoafreshportionoftestliquidat thistemperatureforaperiodof5minto10min. Removethesurplustestliquidfromthesurfaceofthetestspecimens.Themethodof removingthesurplusliquidmayvarywiththenatureoftheliquid.Whenvolatile,mobile liquidslikeisooctaneandtoluenear

    35、eused,removequicklyandwipethetestspecimenwith filterpaperorapieceoftextilewhichdoesnotdepositlint.Somedifficultymaybe experiencedincompletelyremovingviscous,nonvolatileliquidsbythismethodanditmay benecessarytodipthetestspecimenquicklyinasuitablevolatileliquidsuchasmethanoland againwipethetestspecime

    36、nwithfilterpaperorapieceoftextilewhichdoesnotdepositlint. Visuallyassesstheappearanceofthetestspecimensagainstapieceofnotimmersedmaterial. Notewhetheranychangeoccurredornotanddescribetheeventualchangesobserved. 8.3.3Testing Testimmediatelyafterremovalofthesurplusliquid.Measuretheselectedphysicalprop
