、s British Standard, which has been prepared under the direction of the Electronic Components Standards Committee, is the generic specification for radio frequency connectors in theBS9000 system of standards for electronic parts of assessed quality. It is a revision of BS9210:1971 which is withdrawn.

、 Where references are made to other British Standards they are to the latest editions. Therefore, the references to BS9000 in this revision differ from those in BS9210:1971. The1981 edition of BS9000-1 gives a table showing the relationship of its clauses to the clause numbering of BS9000:1971. This

、 revision takes account of IEC Publication169-1, “Radio frequency connectors” Part1 “General requirements and measuring methods”, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission, and includes changes to the test and measurement requirements in line with recent advances in technology. This

、 revised standard will eventually be superseded by the harmonized generic specification for radio frequency connectors, BSCECC22000:1980, but for a period both standards will remain extant because of current approvals to BS9210. Section3 of this standard defines those procedures necessary to enable

、an r.f.connector manufacturer to demonstrate his ability to design, manufacture and test r.f.connectors within claimed boundaries of technical skill and expertise. A single capability approval exercise covers the subsequent manufacture of all connector designs embodying, but not exceeding, the claim

、ed and demonstrated boundaries of capability. After the initial approval the manufacturer regularly carries out self-assessment by the testing of capability qualifying components to a programme agreed with the Supervising Inspectorate at the time when capability approval is granted. Some appendices

、originally included in the1971 edition of this standard have not been included in this revision. However, the appendix letters of the previous edition have been retained in order to facilitate compatibility of cross-referencing with the previous edition. For the same reason the tables inAppendix N h

、ave retained their reference numbers from the previous edition rather than being included in the general sequence of table numbering. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. C

、ompliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations.
