    8、public expense in respect of the following items. (a) Rising arm parking barriers. (b) Rising kerb or rising step parking barriers. (c) Coin/token acceptance units to control the operation of barriers. 3.1 External power source 3.1.1 Electrical supply shall be a single or three phase supply. NOTE. A

    9、n additional operational standby system may be provided by agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. 3.1.2 All wiring shall be in accordance with the relevant British Standards. NOTE. Attention is drawn to the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Wiring Regulations*. (d) Ticket disp

    10、ensing mechanisms to control the operation of barriers. 3.1.3 Each piece of equipment shall be protected by a miniature circuit breaker or a residue current circuit power supply. 3.1.4 All items of metalwork within the equipment and mounting arrangement shall be bonded together to ensure adequate ea

    11、rthing. 3.1.5 The real time control and the audit memory, where fitted, shall be supported by means of either an auto- matically recharging battery or a primary cell. The real time control and the audit memory shall retain the memory for a period of not less than 7 days following a loss of the NOTE

If the machine automatically returns to operation when the primary power source is re-established the machine shall record within the electronic

    14、 memory, if fitted, the period(s) for which it was non-functional or the num- ber of times for which it was non-functional. Otherwise 2.1 rising arm parking barrier. A horizontal barrier arm above ground level arranged to move from a closed position to permit the passage of vehicles into or from an

    15、area reserved for parking. 2.2 rising kerb parking barrier. A barrier which protrudes above the road surface and which can be moved to lie flush with the road surface to permit the passage Of vehicles into or from an area reserved for parking. 2.3 coin/token unit. A mechanism designed to accept coin

    16、s or tokens to control the operation of a parking barrier. 2.4 acceptance unit. Equipment designed to accept a suitably encoded card, ticket or device to control the operation of a parking barrier or payment unit. 2.5 ticket dispenser. A mechanism designed to mark and/or encode and issue a ticket at

    17、 the entrance of an area reserved for parking. 2.6 driver key. An electronic or mechanical device which operates the barrier equipment, either locally or remotely, 2.7 device acceptance. A function involving the correct operation of a meter as the result of the correct use of a valid device. the mac

    18、hine shall remain out of order until maintained by personnel. NOTE. Primary cells, where used, should be changed at sufficient intervals to ensure these conditions are met. 3.2 (b) the number and date of this British Standard, .e.     19、 relation to a product represents a manufactureis declaration of conformity, .e. a claim by or on behalf of the manufacturer that the product meets the requirements of the standard. The accuracy of the claim is therefore solely the responsibility of the person making the claim. Such a declaration is

    20、 not to be confused with third party certification of conformity, which may also be desirable. 6 BS 6571 : Part 4 : 1989 Appendix Appendix A. Type test for barrier equipment A.l Performance check A performance check consists of the following steps: (a) activation of the barrier 10 times, checking th

    21、e requirements of clauses 5,6 and 7, as appropriate; (b) operation of the control unit, ticket dispenser and acceptance units 10 times, checking the require- ments of clause 8. A.2 Order of testing The equipment is tested as follows. (a) Carry out a performance check at ambient temperature. (b) Plac

    22、e the equipment in a chamber and increase the temperature to 50 OC over a period of not less than 1 h. Leave at 50 OC for between 20 h and 24 h. Carry out a performance check. (c) Subject the equipment to damp heat at a tempera- ture of 40 OC and a relative humidity of 95 %for 4 h, after which carry

    23、 out a performance check. (d) Reduce the temperature of the equipment to 20 OC over a period of not more than 1 h and hold for a duration of 2 h, after which carry out a performance check. (e) Reduce the temperature of the equipment to -10 OC over a period of not less than 1 h. Leave at -10 “C for b

    24、etween 20 h and 24 h, after which carry out a per- formance check.
