、General test conditions The characteristics of the equipment shall be measured under the following conditions: at rated mains voltage; at rated mains frequency; ambient temperature between15 C and35 C; relative humidity between45% and75%; at86kPa to106kPa atmospheric pressure; after at least10min op

NOTESee also Clause8 of IEC Publication94-3. 3 Track configuration and mode of recording Recorded audio signals shall comply with the requirements applicable to professional use, as specified in IEC Publication94-1. 3.1 Track pattern on tape The track pattern is defined in Figure 2. The pat

、tern of the audio tracks shall conform to that used for two track, two channel, unidirectional stereophonic recording (see Sub-clause14.1.3 and Figure7 of IECPublication94-6). 3.2 Mode of recording The time code, according to IEC Publication461, shall be recorded in the longitudinal direction of the

、 tape by means of magnetic head gaps adjusted perpendicular to the direction of the tape movement. 3.3 Time correlation between time code and audio recording The start of each80bit time code frame recorded on the time code track shall coincide with each related audio event recorded on the audio trac

、ks. 3.4 Levels The peak-to-peak value of the time code recording shall be63dB below the peak-to-peak maximum audio level. Recommended levels: 3.5 Shape of the recorded pulses See Figure 1. The rise time and decay time of the recorded flux measured between10% and90% of the maximum flux shall be 504s.

、 The overshoots shall not exceed5%. These measurements shall be made by means of a reproducing chain with a time constant of04s. 4 Requirements for equipment for recording and reproducing the time code Equipment shall comply with the requirements forprofessional use, as specified in IECPublications9

、4-1 and94-6. The time code track shall comply with Figure 2. It is recommended that bias be applied during time track code recording. 4.1 Cross-talk In order to ensure inaudibility of the time code on both audio channels, the level of cross-talk on each audio track from the time code track shall be8

、0dB or more below the maximum audio level. Cross-talk attenuation from each audio track to the time code track shall be25dB or more in the frequency range from40Hz to16kHz. NOTEIf, in accordance with Sub-clause3.4, the time code level is6dB below the maximum audio level, cross-talk components may be

、 measured via a specified selective filter. 4.2 Inputs and outputs Input and output characteristics should preferably be as follows: Maximum audio level: 514nWb/m r.m.s., sine(1454nWb/m peak-to-peak).
