The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication, without deviation, as a British Standard. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards

、; attention is especially drawn to the following. The comma has been used throughout as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Where the words “International Standard” appear, referring to this standard, they should be

、 read as “British Standard”. There is no British Standard directly equivalent to ISO/R 719, but procedure A described in section 2 of BS3473:1962 “Methods for testing the chemical resistance of glass used in the preparation of laboratory glassware” is technically equivalent provided that the test is

、 carried out at 98 0.5 C instead of100 1 C. Additional information. It should be noted that other borosilicate glasses having a thermal coefficient of expansion up to 4.0 10 6K 1are obtainable in the UK for particular purposes; these glasses are available in the same ranges of external diameters and

、 wall thicknesses as those specified in Table 1. NOTETextual error. In Table 1 the entry for the light wall thickness for tubing of an external diameter of 7,0mm is given as “10 0,1”; the entry should read “1,0 0,1”.
