    10、 technical advances in the industry since the publication of the 1971 edition. It takes account of Amendment Slip No.1,1972 (AMD1064) and of Amendment Slip No.2,1973 (AMD1218). It is being published in a number of Sections as follows. Part 1: Requirements for systems with audible signalling only; Se

    11、ction 1.1. Installation; Section 1.2. Maintenance and records. Part 2: Requirements for systems with remote signalling; Section 2.1. Installation; Section 2.2. Maintenance and records. Part 3: Requirements for detection devices, consisting of a number of separate Sections (3.1,3.2,3.3etc.). The spec

    12、ifications for detection devices (including this Section of BS4737) are to be read in conjunction with Section 1.1 or Section 2.1 (as appropriate). A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct

This will be indicated in the amendment table on the inside front cover.BS 4737-3.2:1977 BSI 12-1998 1 1 Scope This British Standard specifies requirements for foil to be used to protect glass surfaces and to be incorporated in intruder alarm systems

    15、 in buildings. NoteSome types of glass (e.g. laminated glass) may not be suitable for protection by foil. 2 References The titles of the standards publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. 3 Definitions For the purposes of this British Standard, the following def

    16、inition applies in addition to those given in BS4737-2.1. 3.1 foil on glass a detection device, consisting of metallic foil fixed to a glass surface, designed to generate an alarm condition when the glass is broken across the line of the foil 4 Circuit configuration Foil shall be closed-circuit in e

    17、ither single- or double-pole configuration. It shall be connected to one or both poles of a double-pole detection circuit at the take-off connectors (seeclause6). 5 Material requirements The foil shall be not more than 0.04mm thick, and each strip shall be not more than 12.5mm wide. 6 Fixing The foi

    18、l shall be applied evenly and so bonded to the glass as to prevent blistering or loosening under normal conditions. Cracks in the glass shall not be bridged by foil. The foil shall not be carried across the butt joints of unframed and cemented glass. 7 Connections At the junction of the glass and fr

    19、ame, take-off connectors shall be used. On unframed glass doors, take-off connectors shall be not more than 100mm from the edge of the glass. 8 Location Foil shall be applied in one of the following ways. a) As a single-pole strip near all four edges of the pane, not less than 50mm and not more than

    20、100mm from the edges, except at the points where the foil circuit is taken off seeFigure 1(a). b) As a single-pole strip parallel to the longer dimension of the pane, not less than 300mm from the edge, except at the ends of the strip. If the shorter dimension of the pane is less than600mm, the foil

    21、shall be applied equidistant from the longer edges seeFigure 1(b). c) As a single-pole circuit consisting of parallel strips of foil, not more than 200mm apart between centres. The ends of the strips and the portions of foil which connect adjacent strips, shall be not less than 50mm and not more tha

    22、n100mm from the edges, except at the points where the foil circuit is taken off seeFigure 1(c). d) On unframed glass doors only, as a single-pole strip in the form of a loop not less than 200mm by 200mm seeFigure 1(d). e) As a double-pole circuit, in which each strip is not less than 50mm and not mo

    23、re than 100mm from the edges, except at the points where the foil circuit is taken off seeFigure 1(e). 9 Environment The foil strips shall be fixed and protected so that the detector continues to function satisfactorily under any combination of the following environmental conditions.
