Steel panels are to be prepared according to theprocedures detailed in Sec. 4.4.2.3. The size of the

    19、panels are to be determined basedon the individual test requirements.5.3.3 Coating thickness. The coating shall be applied to a thickness inaccordance with Sec. 4.3.Sec. 5.4 Surface Preparation Inspection5.4.1 Cleaning. Immediately before abrasive blast cleaning, the pipe shall bevisually inspected

    20、to ensure that the surfaces to be coated are free of any oil, grease,or other foreign matter.5.4.2 Profile. The depth of profile shall be determined by using replica tape,a depth micrometer, or surface profile comparator in accordance with ASTM D4417to ensure compliance with Sec. 4.4.2.2.5.4.3 Color

    21、. The visual comparative standard prepared as per Sec. 4.4.2.3shall be used to determine that the color of the blasted surface meets the requirementof near-white metal in accordance with SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2.5.4.4 Steel temperature and dew point. The dew point shall be measured atthe time of abrasi

    22、ve blast cleaning using a standard sling psychrometer or otherindustry-recognized equipment. The steel temperature shall be a minimum of 5F(3C) above the dew point temperature during the abrasive blast cleaning andapplication of the coating material. The ambient temperature shall be within thecoatin

    23、g manufacturers recommendations.5.4.5 Rejection. The purchaser may reject any pipe or pipe section if thesurface condition does not comply with the requirements of Sec. 4.4.2.6. Pipe orpipe sections rejected because of inadequate cleaning shall be recleaned.16 AWWA C222-08Sec. 5.5 Shop- or Field-Coa

    24、ted Pipe Inspection5.5.1 Coating appearance. All coated pipe shall be visually inspected. Thecoating shall be generally smooth and free of sharp protrusions. A minor amount ofsags, dimpling, scuffing, and curtaining that does not exceed 10 percent of thesurface shall not be considered cause for reje

    25、ction. The coating shall have no blisters,cracks, bubbles, delamination, or any other visible defects. There shall be no wet orsticky areas in the coating. All imperfections shall be identified and repairedaccording to Sec. 4.6.5.5.2 Dry film thickness. Dry film thickness shall be measured in accord

    26、ancewith SSPC-PA 2 to ensure compliance with Sec. 4.3. If the thickness is found to beless than the amount required, all of the pipe coated since the last thicknessmeasurement shall be checked and overcoated if necessary.5.5.3 Electrical continuity inspection. Electrical continuity inspection shall

    27、beconducted in accordance with NACE RP-0188 any time after the coating hasreached sufficient cure, but prior to installation. The voltage setting shall be permanufacturers recommendation except that the minimum shall be 100 v/mil. Anyholidays indicated by the detector shall be marked and repaired pe

    28、r Sec. 4.6.5.5.4 Adhesion. Adhesion testing shall be conducted on two sufficientlycured, coated sections of pipe from each shift selected at random with one from thebeginning of the shift and one from halfway through the shift. Adhesion testing shallbe conducted in accordance with ASTM D4541. The co

    29、ating around the dolly shallbe scored completely through to the steel substrate. The adhesion will be consideredsatisfactory if the test value is a minimum of 1,500 psi (10,305 kPa). If the adhesionis not satisfactory, two additional tests shall be made at two different locations on thesame pipe. If

    30、 either additional test fails, the pipe shall be rejected. If the pipe isrejected, a systematic inspection of all pipe coated on that shift shall be made, and allpipe not meeting this adhesion requirement shall be rejected. Damaged test areas ofaccepted pipe and areas determined to have unsatisfacto

    31、ry adhesion shall be repairedin accordance with Sec. 4.6.Sec. 5.6 Notice of Nonconformance5.6.1 Surface preparation. The purchaser may reject any pipe if the surfacecondition does not comply with the requirements of Sec. 4.4.2. Pipe rejected becauseof inadequate cleaning shall be recleaned.POLYURETH

If any sample of coating material does not complywith this standard, then the coated pipe represented by the sample shall be repairedor rejected.5.6.3 Coated pipe. Coated pipe not meeting the minim

    33、um requirements ofthis standard shall be repaired or rejected.SECTION 6: DELIVERYSec. 6.1 GeneralCoated pipe and other articles shall be packaged, handled, and stored in amanner that will minimize damage. Pipe or coating damaged in handling or otheroperations shall be repaired at no additional cost

    34、to the purchaser. Damage tointernal lining or external coating shall be repaired as described in Sec. 4.6.Sec. 6.2 PackagingAll coating materials shall be supplied to the job site in the manufacturersoriginal unopened containers. Each container shall be plainly marked with the nameand address of the

    35、 manufacturer, type of material, batch or lot number, date ofmanufacture, storage conditions, and information as required by governmentregulations.Sec. 6.3 Storage of MaterialsMaterials shall be stored and protected from the elements in compliance withgovernment regulations. Temperature ranges in th

    36、e storage area shall be maintainedwithin the limits recommended by the manufacturer.Sec. 6.4 Affidavit of ComplianceWhen specified by the purchaser, the constructor shall provide an affidavit thatall material and work provided complies with the requirements of this standard.When specified by the purchaser, the constructor shall provide an affidavit that thecoating material supplied is of the same formulation(s) that was laboratory tested bythe manufacturer and found to meet or exceed the performance requirements of thisstandard.This page intentionally blank.
