、e as a reference guide for physical and energy efficiency of both indoor and outdoor equipment. The intent of the guideline is to be a reference guide and not for specific testing guidance of the equipment. This guideline is designed to refer the interested parties to applicable test standard(s). 1.

、2 Purpose The purpose of this guideline is to provide interested parties a roadmap through the suite of ATIS standards. It is meant as a roadmap and the expectation is that the referenced document in each table shall be used to perform the testing. The reference document will contain the actual test

The information supplied in this guideline alone is not sufficient to perform the testing in accordance with the referenced documents. Interested parties will utilize the ATIS requirements, referenced throughout th

、logy offices that house communication services. 3.2 Environment, Controlled: An environment where temperature and humidity around the equipment are controlled within set limits through application of heat, air cooling/conditioning, and filtration (HVAC) as a result of a monitoring system that contin

、ually measures the ambient conditions. 3.3 Environment Partially Controlled: An environment where temperature around the equipment is partly controlled primarily through the use of fans and heat exchangers to dissipate and remove heat generated from operating electronics and transfer the heat away i

、nto the surrounding area. Typically these environments do not use active heating or humidity control equipment to modify the environment around the equipment. 3.4 Environment, Uncontrolled: An environment where no active means is used to modify the environment around the equipment. The equipment and

、 the closure in which it is housed may use design features such as cooling fins and heat sinks to dissipate heat. 3.5 Equipment: A shelf, chassis, or other apparatus assembled into or onto a frame (e.g., a UCF), mounts on wall or pole, deploys in OSP directly, or deploys in OSP cabinets/enclosures t

、hat operates to provide a defined designated function, either standalone or with other equipment. 3.6 Frame Level: An equipment frame consists of structural framework that occupies floor space and all the equipment mounted in it (see ATIS-0600010). 3.7 Hut: An above-ground thermally controlled closu

、re that houses telecommunications equipment to serve a large number of customers. 3.8 Shelf (Chassis): A mechanical structure designed specifically to support associated electrical and electronic components. 3.9 Shelf Level: A single chassis of equipment that mounts inside a framework (see ATIS-0600010). 3.10 Standalone Outside Plant: A configuration where the equipment and its integrated closure are considered as a single unit for the purposes of testing.
