Scope1.1 This specification applies to the maximum content oflead in fibers used in synthetic turf.1.1.1 This specification outlines a test method

    3、 for samplepreparation and a test method for analyzing the total leadcontent in synthetic turf fibers.1.1.2 This specification outlines guidelines for reportingtotal lead content in synthetic turf fibers.1.2 This specification applies only to synthetic turf fibersmanufactured after Sept. 1, 2009.NOT

    4、E 1It is the goal of the industry to reduce lead content to 100mg/kg (ppm) by Sept. 1, 2011.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.     8、ed asmg/kg (ppm).4. Acceptable Level4.1 A representative sample of fiber shall be tested by thetest method(s) described in Section 5 of this specification. Thetotal lead content measured shall be less than 300 mg/kg(ppm).4.2 Synthetic turf fibers shall be tested at such quantityintervals as to ensur

Test Methods5.1 Laboratory QualificationThe testing shall be con-ducted by an independent environmental laboratory accreditedfor heavy metal testing in solid and hazardous waste.5.2 Preparation of the SamplePrepare sample(s) as out-lined in EPA

    10、 Method 3052 with the temperature modified from180 6 5C to 210 6 10C.5.3 Analysis of Sample:5.3.1 Analyze sample(s) prepared in 5.1 for lead usinginductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopyICP-AES or atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) as out-lined in Test Method E 1613.5.3.2 Report tot

    11、al lead content as mg/kg (ppm).6. Report6.1 Record the following information:6.1.1 Fiber identification, such as lot and color numbers.6.1.2 Date sampled,6.1.3 Method used,6.1.4 Date tested, and6.1.5 Total lead content (mg/kg or ppm).7.
