    3、ements and test methods forinstallation of a semi-structural polyethylene (PE) and encap-sulated cement mortar formed-in-place lining system (FIPLS)intended for the rehabilitation of water pipelines from 4 in. to12 in. This renewal process involves installing a folded PEliner with multiple hooks on

    4、the outside face into an existingwater pipeline then pumping cement mortar into the annularspace and progressively reforming the liner against the originalpipe wall by means of forcing a reforming device through thepipeline.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The

    5、 values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to

    6、 establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applicabil-ity of regulatory limitations prior to use. Particular attention isdrawn to those safety regulations and requirements involvingentering into and working in confined spaces.1.4 This practice is to be used with the materi

    18、adhesion to the pipe wall.3.2.4.1 DiscussionAppendix A of AWWA Manual M28 “Structural Lining Design Issues,” contains a more detaileddiscussion of structural classification of lining techniques. Thefollowing is taken from Manual M28: “Class II and Class IIILinings are both interactive and semi-struc

    19、tural systems. Sincethe stiffness of such a lining is less than that of the host pipe,all internal pressure loads are transferred to the host pipeleading to their classification as interactive. Such a lining isrequired only to independently sustain internal pressure loadsat discontinuities in the ho

    20、st pipe, such as corrosion holes orjoint gaps, or if the host pipe is subject to structural failure.”4. Materials4.1 Basic Materials:4.2 The PE liner shall be made from PE material meeting allthe minimum physical properties as listed in F2718, “StandardSpecification for Polyethylene (PE) and Cement

    21、Materials foran Encapsulated Cement Mortar Lining System for the Reha-bilitation (FIPLS) of Water Pipelines.” In addition, the PE linershall have the properties shown in Table 1.4.3 The cement mortar is used to fill the annular spacebetween outer surface of the liner and the host pipe. Thecement mor

    22、tar shall have the minimum physical properties aslisted in F2718, “ Standard Specification for Polyethylene (PE)and Cement Materials for an Encapsulated Cement MortarLining System for the Rehabilitation (FIPLS) of Water Pipe-lines.”4.4 The Polyethylene and cement mortar formed-in-placelining system

    23、(FIPLS) shall have the minimum properties asshown in Table 2.NOTE 1Samples will be taken of the cement mortar material andtested throughout the installation process to confirm its compliance to theproperties listed in Table 2 and as specified in F2718, “StandardSpecification for Polyethylene (PE) an

    24、d Cement Materials for an Encap-sulated Cement Mortar Lining System for the Rehabilitation (FIPLS) ofWater Pipelines.”5. Significance and Use5.1 This practice is for use by specifiers, regulatoryagencies, owners and inspection organizations that are in-volved in the rehabilitation of pressure mains

    25、and conduits, andin particular potable water lines in the diameter range of 4 to 12in. The supplier of the FIPLS lining system product should beconsulted for design and installation information.6. Installation Requirements6.1 Cleaning and Inspection:6.1.1 Access SafetyPrior to entering any confined

    26、space,and performing inspection or cleaning operations, an evalua-tion of the atmosphere to determine the presence of toxic orflammable vapors or lack of oxygen must be undertaken inaccordance with local, state, or federal safety regulations.6.1.2 Cleaning of PipelineInternal debris, including scal-

    27、ing and deposit buildups, shall be removed from the existingpipeline prior to installation of the product. Pipes should becleaned with hydraulically powered equipment, or mechani-cally powered equipment. Any free standing water shall beremoved from the pipe.6.1.3 Inspection of PipelinesThe interior

    28、of the pipelineshall be carefully inspected to determine the location of anycondition(s) that shall prevent proper installation. These con-ditions shall be noted and corrected prior to installation.Experienced personnel trained in locating breaks, obstacles,and service connections by closed circuit

    29、television (CCTV)shall perform inspection of pipelines. CCTV inspection shallbe performed after cleaning to ensure the pipeline is ready forrehabilitation.6.1.4 Line ObstructionsThe existing pipeline shall beclear of obstructions that prevent the proper insertion andexpansion of the lining system.6.

    30、2 Liner Insertion:6.2.1 The liner sections are positioned near their respectiveaccess points. A mechanical folding device may be positionedon the host pipe in order to fold the liner for winching throughthe host pipeline. A winch shall be placed at the oppositeaccess, and the winch cable strung thro

    31、ugh the host pipe andthen attached to the liner pulling head. Alternatively the linermay be pulled in by hand. The liner is winched through thefolding device and along the length of main to be lined. Caremust be taken to avoid any twisting of the liner as it travelsthrough the main. When the liner r

    32、eaches the winch end, thewinch is stopped and an extra 2 yd (2 m) of liner are pulledthrough by hand. One yd (1 m) of the liner pulled out of thehost pipe and is cut out and inspected for damage duringinsertion. If serious damage is observed, the liner should beremoved and the cause of the damage lo

    33、cated and rectifiedprior to the insertion of a new length of liner into the main.Damage will consist of tearing or cutting of the liner or seriousabrasion and gouging of the surface of the liner extending tomore than 20 % of the wall thickness.6.3 Grouting of the Annulus:6.3.1 Protection of Service

    34、ConnectionsPrior to the grout-ing operation service connections should be pre-plugged orcorked to prevent ingress of the cement mortar.6.3.2 Grouting operations shall be conducted from thedownstream to the upstream access points. The grout fittings atthe downstream end and the air release fittings a

A sufficient amount of grout shallbe positioned at the downstream access point and the mixingequipment set-up and tested fo

    37、r proper operation in accordancewith the suppliers recommendations. A quality control stationshall be set-up adjacent to cement mortaring operation. Thecement mortar machines shall be brought on line and the groutchecked for temperature, viscosity, and water-cement ratio inaccordance with the suppli

    38、ers recommendations. When therecommended parameters have been achieved the groutingoperation shall begin. Once grouting of the annulus has begun,the cementing operation shall not stop until completed.6.4 Introduction of the Rounding Device:6.4.1 After introduction of the grout, the rounding device(p

    39、ig) is inserted into the launcher. Air is introduced behind therounding device. The pressure should be increased until therounding device starts to move. The pressure should bemaintained as the rounding device travels through the sectionbeing lined.6.5 Hydration of the Cement Mortar:6.5.1 When the P

    40、E liner and grout have been installed, thefittings are sealed and the pressure in the liner increased.During hydration, the internal pressure on the lining may bemaintained by use of compressed air only or by filling the linerwith water and maintaining the desired pressure. Pressureshould be maintai

    41、ned on the liner throughout hydration, untilthe cement has sufficiently hardened and the lining system isfully self-supporting and able to resist the short-term externalhydrostatic loading. At this time the pressure may be relieved.The lining system must remain undisturbed until the cementhas harden

    42、ed, after which time, return to service proceduresmay commence. Once the cement has hardened the installationfitting may be removed, the inflation liner pulled out anddiscarded and the ends of the liner trimmed.7. Post Lining Procedure7.1 The cement mortar shall be cured for a period of timedependin

    43、g upon the ambient air temperature and flowconditions, but not less than 16 h. The cement mortar thatremains in the cement liners and port shall be inspected todetermine if the required amount of cure (16 h) has beenachieved.7.2 InspectionA closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspec-tion shall be carri

    44、ed out over the entire length of the installationto ensure that the lining conforms to the walls of the main andthat the lining system is free from defects. The grout distribu-tion is to be inspected using infra red thermography. Groutvoids detected by the inspection should be repaired as recom-mend

    45、ed by the lining system manufacturer.7.3 DisinfectionBefore the lined section is reconnected tothe main, the installation shall be disinfected (chlorinated).Anyline cutouts and any fittings shall be disinfected using ahypochlorite solution as approved by the client engineer. Afterthe specified time

    46、has elapsed, the main is flushed until thechlorine residual measured at the discharge point is equal tothat of the water entering the main.NOTE 2The rehabilitated main is normally charged with suitablychlorinated water, the residual chlorine level and contact time beingdetermined by the Clients Stan

    47、dard Practice for return to serviceprocedures. In the US, the American Water Works Association StandardANSI/AWWA C651 shall apply.7.4 Reconnecting to the Active Distribution SystemReconnect the rehabilitated section to the active distributionsystem by installing spool pieces, couplings, ferrules and

    48、 anyother required fittings. Materials used for reconnection shall besprayed with chlorine solution before incorporation into theworks to prevent pollution from occurring. Service connectionsare to be reconnected by first removing the sealing plugs, thendrilling a hole through the center of the tapi

    49、ng. The PE linerand cement shall be milled from this central hole to the outsideof the taping. A tap shall be run through the original taping toclean any residual cement from the threads. A new serviceferule shall be screwed into the original taping for reconnectionof the household supply. The ends of the lining shall be cutsquare and the propriety Top-Hat fitting pushed inside the liner.Spool pieces can be used to connect the lined section back intothe network.NOTE 3Access holes are required to be backfilled and surfacereinstatement carried out to the ap
