Tubing Classification4.1 GeneralThis specification covers one PE-RT tubingmaterial

23、in one standard dimension ratio, 9.0, and havingpressure ratings for water at 73F and 180F and optionally at140F. The pressure ratings decrease as the temperature isincreased.4.2 Standard Thermoplastic Pipe Dimension Ratio (SDR)This specification covers PE-RT tubing in one standarddimension ratio (S

24、DR 9) and nominal tubing sizes (NTS) from18 in. through 6 in. with a maximum continuous use tempera-ture that shall be 180F (82.2C). The pressure ratings areuniform for all nominal tubing sizes.5. Materials5.1 GeneralThe plastic used to make tubing shall bevirgin plastic or reworked plastic, as spec

The ratings at140F are an optional standard.5.2 Barrier LayersPE-RT tubing may incorporate an op-tional interior wall, mid wall or outer wall layer or a combi-nation of

26、such layers of non-PE-RT material for the expresspurpose of providing gas barrier properties to the pipe. Thetubing shall meet the minimum wall thickness requirements ofthis standard without using the barrier layer thickness in thedeterminations. PE-RT tubing with a barrier layer within thewall of t

35、sare met. Bent tubing, with a radius of 6 times the outsidediameter and consisting of a continuous bend length inducingnot less than 90 angle, shall meet the 180F (82.2C)minimum hydrostatic sustained pressure strength requirementsshown in Table 5 when tested in accordance with 7.8. The minimum testduration shall be 1000 h without failure.NOTE 1PE-RT tubing, larger than 1 in. nominal diameter, is typicallyinstalled as main distribution lines and is installed in straight runs. Fittin

The test procedures in 6.6are intended to evaluate PE-RT tubing installed in tight bend applicationsin accordance with the procedure in Appendix X3. This applicationapplies to

In

39、 casesof disagreement, the tolerances shall be 61.8F (61C) and62 % relative humidity.7.2 Test ConditionsConduct the test in the standard labo-ratory atmosphere of 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C) and 50 6 5%relative humidity, unless otherwise specified in the test meth-ods or in this specification. In cases of
