Scope1.1 This guide covers the manufacture of powered para-chute aircraft and their qualification for certification.1.2 This guide applies

Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 powered parachute, naircraft comprised of a flex-ible or semi-rigid wing connected to a fuselage in such a waythat the wing is not in position for flight until the aircraft is inmotion, that aircraft has a fuselage with s

    7、eats, engine, andwheels (or floats), such that the wing and engine cannot beflown without the wheels (or floats) and seat(s). Unique to thepowered parachute is the large displacement between thecenter of lift (high) and the center of gravity (low), which is thependulum effect. The pendulum effect li

    8、mits angle of attackchanges, provides stall resistance, and maintains flight stability.4. Interface Documentation4.1 Interface documentation is the data necessary for theaircraft manufacturer to complete overall certification toASTM powered parachute standards. The following datarepresents a guide t

    9、o recommended type, detail, and generalformat for data transfer from a major subcontractor to theaircraft manufacturer.4.2 Manufacturers Reference DocumentsThe followingare reference documents that should be supplied to the manu-facturer by the subcontractor. These are intended to be main-tained at

    10、a current status and referenced by documents pro-vided with each delivered product.4.2.1 Quality Assurance ManualIn order to meet therequirements of Specification F 2240, it will be necessary forthe manufacturer to have a current copy of the subcontractorsquality assurance manual on file. This manua

    11、l needs to showthat written procedures are in effect for:4.2.1.1 Drawing control,4.2.1.2 Component control,4.2.1.3 Receiving inspection,4.2.1.4 Material identification,4.2.1.5 Inspection,4.2.1.6 Non-conforming material handling, and4.2.1.7 QA audits.4.2.2 Continued AirworthinessIn order to meet the

    12、re-quirements of Specification F 2241, it will be necessary for themanufacturer to have a current copy of the subcontractorscontinued airworthiness manual on file.4.2.3 Production Acceptance TestingIn order to meet therequirements of Specification F 2242, it will be necessary forthe manufacturer to

    13、have a current copy of the subcontractorsproduction acceptance testing written procedure on file.4.2.4 Maintenance Manual CoordinationIn order to meetthe requirements of Specification F 2243, it will be necessaryfor the manufacturer to have a current copy of the subcontrac-tors maintenance manual on

    17、rdinationdocument describing what is covered by the statement ofconformance, as provided by the subcontractor.4.3 Data Provided with Delivered ProductThis is theindividual product documentation that the manufacturers willdepend on to complete certification of their finished unit toASTM standards.4.3

    18、.1 Date of DocumentationThis is when the documen-tation was prepared for the specific unit presented.4.3.2 Identification of the Product Provided:4.3.2.1 Make,4.3.2.2 Model, and4.3.2.3 Serial number.4.3.3 Interface Physical Limits:4.3.3.1 Riser attachment spacing and length limits are to bepresented

    19、 as a table of “riser attachment spacing” versusacceptable associated “riser length” with appropriate toler-ances.4.3.3.2 Riser style, limits, or part number may be identifiedto meet a specific application,4.3.3.3 Control input limits, and4.3.3.4 Design load capability.4.3.3.5 Design Ultimate Load i

    20、n PoundsThis the numberused by the manufacturer to show compliance with the requiredultimate load factor based on the manufacturers design grossweight.4.3.4 Quality Assurance Manual Date ReferenceThe ref-erence date provides unit-specific assurance that the manual onfile at the manufacturer is the c

    21、urrent document.4.3.5 Quality Assurance Audit, latest date audited.4.3.6 Wing Top Drawing Number, revision level and datereleased.4.3.7 Continued Airworthiness Manual Date ReferenceThe reference date provides unit-specific assurance that themanual on file at the manufacturer is the current document.
