Scope1.1 This specification co

    3、vers needle roller bearings havingthick outer rings, with rollers and cages.1.2 The bearings being specified are intended to be usedwith hardened shafts (HRC58-65; see Test Methods E18). Foruse with unhardened shafts, bearings should be used inconjunction with inner bearing ring MS51962 as specified

    4、 inSpecification F2431 and shown as MS500072 bearing assem-blies in Specification F2430.1.3 The use of recycled materials that meet the requirementsof the applicable material specification without jeopardizingthe intended use of the item is encouraged.1.4 Bearings designed to this specification are

    5、intended foruse in applications requiring high radial load with minimalangular shaft misalignment.1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard.     16、s cantheoretically endure for a rating life of one million revolutionsof the inner ring.3.2.2.1 DiscussionSince applied loading as great as thebasic dynamic load rating tends to cause local plastic defor-mation of the rolling surfaces, it is not anticipated that suchheavy loading would normally be a

    17、pplied.3.2.3 basic static load rating (Cor) for a radial rollerbearing, that uniformly distributed static radial load whichproduces a maximum contact stress at the center of the mostheavily loaded rolling element contact of 580 000 psi (4000Mpa).3.2.3.1 DiscussionFor this contact stress, a total per

    18、ma-nent deformation of roller element plus raceway occurs, whichis approximately 0.0001 of the roller diameter.3.2.4 rating life (L10)for a radial roller bearing, thenumber of revolutions that 90 % of a group of bearings willcomplete or exceed before the first evidence of fatigue devel-ops.4. Orderi

    19、ng Information4.1 When ordering parts in accordance with thisspecification, specify the following:4.1.1 ASTM designation number, including year of issue,4.1.2 Dash number (see Table 1),4.1.3 Dimensions of roller bearings, including:4.1.3.1 Bore diameter, in. (mm),4.1.3.2 Outside diameter, in. (mm),4

    20、.1.3.3 Width, in. (mm), and4.1.3.4 Radius, in. (mm),4.1.4 Load rating, including basic static load rating, lb (N)and basic dynamic load rating, lb (N), and4.1.5 Approximate limiting speed, rpm.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 RollersRollers shall be manufactured of steel, alloy,grade E50100, E51100 o

    21、r E52100 in accordance with SAEAMS-STD-66 or SAE J-404.5.2 RingsRings shall be manufactured of steel, alloy orcarbon, carburizing grade 4620, 4720, 8620, 8720, or 1010-1020 in accordance with SAE AMS-STD-66 or SAE 51100 orSAE 52100 in accordance with SAE J-404.5.3 CagesCages shall be manufactured of

    22、 steel, brass, orbronze, or other material in accordance with manufacturersstandards.6. Other Requirements6.1 Heat Treatment:6.1.1 RollersRollers shall be through hardened to Rock-well HRC58-66 in accordance with Test Methods E18.6.1.2 Rings:6.1.2.1 Steel 4620, 4720, 8620, 8720, and 1010-1020 shallb

    23、e case hardened to Rockwell HRC58-65, in accordance withTest Methods E18. Case depth shall be 0.025 in. (0.64 mm)minimum.6.1.2.2 Steel SAE 51100 and SAE 52100 shall be throughhardened to Rockwell HRC58-65, in accordance with TestMethods E18.6.2 Protective Coating:6.2.1 Bearings shall be furnished wi

    24、thout plating.6.2.2 Manufacturer shall coat bearings with rust preventivefilm.6.3 LubricationBearings shall be furnished without lubri-cation.7. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations7.1 Products manufactured in accordance with this specifi-cation shall meet the requirements shown in Table 1.7

    25、.2 Bearings are intended to be installed on shafts wheremaximum taper does not exceed 0.0005 in. per inch (0.0005mm per mm) of bearing width.7.3 Bearing bore should be checked using a “go” plug gagethat is 0.0001 in. (0.0025 mm) less than the minimum diameterunder the needle rollers column of Table

    26、1, and “no go” pluggage that is 0.0001 in. (0.0025 mm) larger than the maximumdiameter under the needle rollers column of Table 1. The “nogo” gage may enter 25 % of the roller length.7.4 One end of the bearing must clear the maximum housingfillet radius shown in the radius column of Table 1.Aminimum

    27、chamfer of132 in. (0.79 mm) on the opposite end may be usedin lieu of radius clearance. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 Surface Finish:8.1.1 Needle RollersNeedle rollers shall have a maximumsurface roughness, in accordance with ANSI B46.1, of 8 in.Ra(0.20 m Ra).8.1.2 RingsThe raceway surface (bore) of the outer r

    44、ingshall have a maximum surface roughness, in accordance withANSI B46.1, of 20 in. Ra(0.51 m Ra).9. Rating Life of Roller Bearing9.1 Use the following equation to calculate rating life ofroller bearing, L10, in millions of revolutions, at loads otherthan the basic dynamic load ratings:L105 Cr/P#10/3

    45、(1)where:L10= Rating life, 106revolutions,Cr= basic dynamic load rating, lb (N), andP = equivalent radial load to which bearing is subjected, lb(N).9.1.1 The rating life of roller bearings as calculated in Eq 1are assumed to be operating under the following conditions:9.1.1.1 The inner ring is rotat

    46、ing,9.1.1.2 The outer ring is stationary,9.1.1.3 The load is steady,9.1.1.4 The revolutions per minute are uniform,9.1.1.5 The roller bearing is thoroughly lubricated,9.1.1.6 The maximum bearing temperature does not exceed300F (149C), and9.1.1.7 Any shaft misalignment does not exceed 0.0005 in.per i

    47、nch (0.0005 mm per mm) of bearing width.9.1.2 Eq 1 is not valid for an applied load greater thanone-half the basic dynamic load rating.10. Inspection10.1 Inspection of the product shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier as part of the purchase contract.11. Rejection and Rehearing1

    48、1.1 Products that fail to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection should be reported tothe producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for rehearing.12. Certification1

    49、2.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been either tested or inspected as directedin this specification and the requirements have been met. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of the testresults shall be furnished.13.
