    16、bbreviations D 1600 unless otherwise speci-fied.3.2.1 anodeless flex riser casinga flexible, plastic coated,metallic, non-gas carrying, protective outer sleeve portion of ananodeless riser which is sometimes selected as an alternate torigid riser casings.3.2.2 anodeless risera type of transition fit

    17、ting which isdesigned to transport gas from an underground polyethylene orpolyamide 11 or polyamide 12 service line to above-groundsteel piping. In an anodeless riser, the polyethylene or polya-mide 11 or polyamide 12 pipe is always the gas carrier, at least,in the below ground section.3.2.3 anodele

    18、ss riser, flex designan anodeless riser wherethe rise leg is a transition fitting which is fabricated to ananodeless flex riser casing which is field bent to form the baseleg.3.2.3.1 DiscussionAnodeless flex risers usually require ariser bracket attached to a rigid supporting member to avoidmeter se

    19、t loads from being transmitted to the thermoplasticservice line.3.2.4 anodeless riser nipplethe metallic, aboveground,gas carrying pipe or fitting portion of an anodeless riser.3.2.5 anodeless riser rigid riser casingthe metallic, non-gas carrying protective outer sleeve portion of an anodelessriser

    20、.3.2.6 anodeless riser, rigid, straight and prebentan an-odeless riser which is produced straight or factory prebent,usually 90, thus defining rise leg and base leg dimensions.3.2.7 base legthe steel horizontal portion of an anodelessriser measured from the centerline of vertical.3.2.8 Category 1a t

    21、ransition joint which provides forpressure tightness and resistance to end loads sufficient tocause no less than 25 % elongation of the PE, PA11 or PA12piping as described in this standard.3.2.9 Category 3a transition joint which provides forpressure tightness and resistance to end loads greater tha

    22、n themaximum thermal stress that would be produced by a tempera-ture change of 100F (55C).3.2.10 grade level markinga marking, tape or label ap-plied to the riser to identify the point at which the transitionfrom PE, PA11 or PA12 gas carrier to metallic gas carrieroccurs. This marking assists the in

    23、staller in determining thegrade level of the installation.3.2.11 insert stiffenera rigid, non-split, solid wall tubewhich is inserted into PE, PA11 or PA12 piping to supportcompression loads in the area of the transition joint.3.2.12 jointthe location at which two or more pieces ofpipe or a pipe and

Inthe United States the design factor is cited in CFRTitle 49 Part 192.121.3.2.14 rise legthe vertical portion of an anodeless risermeasured from the centerline of horizontal.3.2.15 service linea fuel gas distribution line which trans-ports gas from a common source of supply (gas main) to t

    27、hecustomer piping.3.2.16 spigota rigid profiled solid wall metallic tube,inserted into the PE, PA11 or PA12 piping serving as thestiffener in the area of transition.3.2.17 transition fittinga fitting that makes a transitionjoint between two different types of piping materials. As usedin this Standar

    28、d, it is the transition between the PE, PA11 orPA12 and the metallic pipes.3.2.18 transition jointthe joint at which two differentpiping materials (the PE, PA11 or PA12 and metal piping) areconnected.4. Materials and ManufactureNOTE 1Materials used in components of the fitting that will be in longte

    29、rm contact with gas should be demonstrated by testing or history ofsuccessful usage not to be adversely affected.4.1 General:4.1.1 All materials of the fitting shall meet the performancerequirements of this specification. Specific materials refer-enced in this section are common materials used in th

    30、ese typesof products. Alternate materials proven to provide equal orbetter performance are acceptable.4.1.2 As per the recommendations of the respective resinmanufacturers, no cross fusion between PA11 pipe and fittingsand PA12 pipe and fittings is permitted. Alternatively, no crossfusion between PE

    31、 pipe and fittings and either PA11 or PA12pipe and fittings is permitted.4.2 Casings and Nipples:4.2.1 Rigid riser casings shall be constructed of Specifica-tion A 53, Specification A 513 or equivalent metallic materialswith a minimum nominal 0.065 in. (1.65 mm) wall thicknesswithin the allowable to

    32、lerance ranges of the applicable metallicpiping specification.4.2.2 Flex riser casings shall be constructed of plastic coatedflexible metallic tubing providing a crush strength of not lessthan 1000 lbs. When tested in accordance with UL 360, section9.1. The flex shall also be capable of withstanding

    33、 a tensile pullof 300 lbs force without breaking or unwinding.4.2.3 Riser nipples shall be constructed of SpecificationA 53, or equivalent, steel pipe with a minimum of schedule 40wall thickness.4.2.4 All burrs on metal components, which could damagethe PE, PA11 or PA12 piping, shall be removed prio

    34、r toinsertion of the PE, PA11 or PA12 piping so as to prevent anydamage to the PE, PA11 or PA12 gas piping. Alternately, allF1973082such burrs shall be suitably covered with a protective devicesuch as an ID plastic sleeve, to preclude any damage to the PE,PA11 or PA12 gas piping.4.3 Polyethylene Pip

    35、e (PE), Polyamide 11 (PA11) andPolyamide 12 (PA12) Pipe:4.3.1 Polyethylene and Polyamide 11 and Polyamide 12pipe shall comply with the requirements of SpecificationD 2513.4.4 Elastomers:4.4.1 Gas sealing elastomeric components shall be of mate-rials compatible with all components of the fitting and

    36、thematerials of the pipes being joined, and shall be resistant to fuelgases.4.5 Specifications outlining the physical and chemical prop-erties of all fitting materials shall be available from the fittingmanufacturer upon request.5. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations5.1 Because of the varyi

    37、ng designs, the actual spread ofdimensions is quite different from manufacturer to manufac-turer.Atable of dimensions and tolerances encompassing thesedifferences would be meaningless and without value and,therefore, are omitted from this specification.6. Design Qualification Requirements6.1 General

    38、:6.1.1 After initial testing, any revision to design adverselyaffecting performance requires retesting.6.2 Bend Radius Requirements:6.2.1 The bend radius of anodeless risers shall not be lessthan 83 the diameter of the PE, PA11 or PA12 piping.NOTE 2If a bend radius of less than 83 the nominal PE, PA

    39、11 orPA12 pipe diameter is used the PE, PA11 or PA12 pipe manufacturershould be contacted to assure that their piping can accept a bend radiusless than 83.6.3 Thread Requirements:6.3.1 All gas carrying steel pipe threads shall comply withANSI/ASME B1.20.16.3.2 The polyethylene or polyamide 11 or pol

    40、yamide 12piping shall not be threaded.6.4 Flange Requirements:6.4.1 All steel flanges shall comply with ANSI B 16.5.6.5 Welding Requirements:6.5.1 All gas pressure containing factory welding shallcomply with the requirements of the United States Code ofFederal Regulations, Title 49, Part 192, Subpar

    41、t D or inaccordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section IX or API 1104.6.6 Temperature Cycling:6.6.1 The joint shall be leak-free after ten temperature cycletests as tested at a minimum of 1.5 3 MAOP and 7 6 3 psigin accordance with 7.4.6.7 Tensile Pull Test Requirements:6.7.1 Transiti

    42、on joints in transition fittings and anodelessrisers in PE, PA11 or PA12 sizes below NPS 4 shall be provento be of full restraint/full seal Category 1 design. The jointqualifies under this requirement if the pipe is pulled to aminimum of 25 % elongation, as indicated by when the lengthof the unrestr

    43、ained PE, PA11 or PA12 piping has beenelongated to 125 % of its original length, when tested inaccordance with 7.3, and is bubble tight in accordance with6.7.3. No leakage or pullout is permitted.6.7.2 In PE, PA11 or PA12 sizes NPS 4 and larger the jointshall be qualified to be of either Category 1

    44、design as in 6.7.1,or of Category 3 design by pull testing to tensile stress equal toor greater than the maximum tensile stress that would beproduced by a temperature change of 100F (38C) whentested in accordance with 7.3. No leakage or pullout ispermitted in accordance with 6.7.3. Failure of one sa

    45、mpleconstitutes failure of this test.NOTE 3Sample calculations are shown in Specification D 2513 sec-tion X2.4 Thermal Stress.6.7.3 The samples shall be leak tested at 7 6 3 psig and aminimum of 1.5 3 MAOP, prior to, and at the end of the testwhile still under tensile load and immediately following

    46、thetensile test. No leakage shall be permitted when tested inaccordance with 7.2.6.7.4 Each nominal size transition design, in medium den-sity PE, PA11 or PA12 shall be tested, except testing of theheaviest wall (lowest SDR) polyethylene or polyamide 11 andpolyamide 12 piping shall qualify all thinn

    47、er wall polyethyleneor polyamide 11 or polyamide 12 pipe joints of the sameoutside diameter.6.7.5 The polyethylene, polyamide 11 or polyamide 12 pipe,in the transition compression zone(s), shall be fully supportedby an inserted stiffener or spigot which, by design, has no sharpO.D. burrs capable of

    48、damaging the polyethylene, polyamide11 and polyamide 12 pipe during assembly.6.8 Leak Test:6.8.1 The transition joint shall be leak free when leak testedat 7 6 3 psig and at a minimum of 1.53 the MAOP at both73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C) and 20 6 3.6F (29 6 2C) inaccordance with 7.2.6.9 Constant Tensile Loa

    49、d Joint TestCTLJT:6.9.1 Test one specimen in accordance with Test MethodF 1588 unless excepted below.6.9.2 The fiber stress shall be as follows:6.9.2.1 1,320 psi for PE piping.6.9.2.2 2060 psi for polyamide 11 (PA11) piping.6.9.2.3 2600 psi for polyamide 12 (PA12) piping.6.9.3 The duration of the test shall be 1000 h.6.9.4 The samples shall be leak tested at 7 6 3 psig and aminimum of 1.5 3 MAOP, prior to, at the end of the test (whilestill under tensile load and immediately following the CTLJT.No leakage shall be permitted when t
