    3、ppercrimp rings for use with cross-linked polyethylene (PEX)tubing in38 ,12 ,58 ,34 , and 1 in. and 114 nominal diametersthat meet the requirements for Specifications F876 and F877.These fittings are intended for use in 100 psi (689.5 kPa) cold-and hot-water distribution systems operating at tempera

    4、turesup to, and including, 180F (82C). The requirements formaterials, workmanship, dimensions, and markings to be usedon the fittings and rings are also included.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. The values given in parentheses are mathemati-cal conversions

General Requirements6.1 The following section

    24、s of Specification F877 constitutea part of this specification.6.1.1 Requirements,6.1.2 Test Methods, and6.1.3 Retest and Rejection.6.2 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.1 appears in this specification, it containsadditional requirements that supplement those

    25、appearing inSpecification F877.6.3 DimensionsAny randomly selected fitting or fittings,and crimp ring or crimp rings, shall be used to determinedimensions. Measurements shall be made in accordance withTest Method D2122, except when determining diameters,which is done by making measurements at four l

    26、ocationsspaced approximately 45 apart around the circumference.Inspection and gauging of solder joint ends shall be inaccordance with ASME B16.18, ASME B16.22,orMSSSP-104.6.4 GeneralAll performance tests shall be performed onassemblies of fittings, crimp rings, and PEX tubing. Fittingsand crimp ring

    27、s shall meet the material and dimensionalrequirements of this specification. PEX tubing shall meet therequirements of Specifications F876 or F877. Assembly of testspecimens shall be in accordance with 9.1.1. Use separate setsof assemblies for each performance test requirement.7. Dimensions7.1 Dimens

    28、ions and TolerancesThe dimensions and tol-erances of fittings and crimp rings shall be as shown in Fig. 1,Fig. 2, Fig. 3, and Fig. 4, when measured in accordance with6.3.7.1.1 AlignmentThe maximum angular variation of anyopening shall not exceed 1 off the true centerline axis.7.1.2 Fittings with Sol

    29、der Joint EndsSolder joint endsshall be in accordance with ASME B16.22, ASME B16.18,orMSS SP-104.7.1.3 Tapered Threaded EndsFitting threads shall beright-hand conforming to ASME B1.20.1. They shall be taperthreads (NPT).8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The sealing surfaces of the insert sha

    30、ll be smooth andfree of foreign material. Fitting walls shall be free of cracks,holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or other defects thatare visible to the unaided eye and affect the wall integrity.9. Assembly9.1 Crimp JointsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEXtubing by the compression of

    31、a copper crimp ring around theouter circumference of the tubing, forcing the tubing materialinto annular spaces formed by ribs on the fitting. Insert fittingsand crimp rings shall meet the dimensional and materialrequirements of this standard. PEX tubing shall meet therequirements of Specifications

    32、F876 or F877. The dimensionsand out-of-roundness of the crimp ring, after it has beencrimped, shall be in accordance with Table 1.9.1.1 Crimping ProcedureThe crimping procedure shallbe as follows: slide the crimp ring onto the tubing, insert theribbed end of the fitting into the end of the tubing un

    33、til thetubing contacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. Each crimp shall bechecked to determine conformance to the after-crimped dimen-sional requirements of Table 1 .10. Product Marking10.1 Quality of MarkingThe marking shall be applie

    42、d tothe fittings in such a manner that it remains legible afterinstallation and inspection.10.2 Content of Marking:10.2.1 Marking on fittings shall include manufacturersname or trademark, or some other identifying mark, and if sizepermits, PEX or the ASTM standard number, or both.10.2.1.1 Where rece

    43、ssed marking is used on fittings, careshall be taken to see that the marking shall not cause cracks orreduce the wall thickness below the minimum specified.10.2.2 Marking on packaging shall include manufacturersname, fitting size, and ASTM F1807.10.2.3 Marking on crimp rings shall include manufactur

    44、erstrademark, or some other identifying mark, and ASTM F1807.11. Quality Assurance11.1 When the product or product packing is marked withtheASTM designation F1807, the manufacturer affirms that theproduct was manufactured, inspected, sampled, and tested inaccordance with this specification, and has
