The pipe is produced in Schedule40 IPS sizes by a coextrusion die system, in which theconcentric layers are formed and combined before exiting thedie.1.1.1 Coextruded composite drain, waste, and vent pipe,DWV, by definition, is permitted to be produced with two ormore layers. The outer layer shall
4、 be ABS. The middle layer ispermitted to be thermally foamed PVC or solid PVC or a blendof rework material, as specified in the rework material section.The inner layer is permitted to be solid PVC orABS, or a blendof rework material as specified in the rework material section.1.1.2 The function of t
5、his specification is to provide stan-dardization of product, technical data, and serve as a purchas-ing guide.1.2 DWV is permitted to be produced utilizing a two layeror three layer coextrusion die.1.3 Materials that do not meet the requirements of thematerial section are excluded.1.4 Pipe produced
6、to this specification is permitted to bejoined using molded fittings meeting the requirements ofSpecification D 2661 or Specification F 628. The fitting pat-terns must comply with Specification D 3311.1.5 Pipe produced to this specification is permitted to beperforated in accordance with any specifi
7、ed standard or byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier.1.6 Pipe produced to this specification is permitted to bebelled for joining by solvent cementing or belled for joining byan elastomeric seal (gasket), in accordance with any specifiedstandard or by agreement between the purchaser and

Materials and Manufacture6.1 Basic CompoundVirgin compound for use in the outerlayer of coextruded composite drain, waste, and vent pipe,DWV, shall contain pigments or
35、 screening agents to provideprotection against UV radiation.6.2 ABS Compound SpecificationThe ABS compoundshall be virginABS compound conforming to the requirementsof Specification D 3965 and shall meet all of the requirementsfor Cell Class 4-2-2-2-2.6.2.1 The color and form of the material shall be
36、 byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier, in accor-dance with Specification D 3965.6.3 PVC Compound SpecificationThe PVC compoundshall be virgin PVC compound conforming to the requirementsof Specification D 4396 and shall meet all of the requirementsfor Cell Class 1-1-4-3-2.6.3.1 The colo
37、r and form of the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier in accor-dance with Specification D 4396.6.3.2 Individual cell class values are permitted to be greaterthan those listed.6.4 Rework MaterialA blend of clean rework materialsgenerated from the manufacturers own pip
38、e production ispermitted to be used by the same manufacturer, provided thepipe produced meets all of the requirements of this specifica-tion. Rework material is excluded from standard definitions ofrecycled materials in accordance with Guide D 5033.6.4.1 Rework material generated from composite pipe
39、 shallnot be used in the outer layer.6.4.2 Thermally foamed layer shall not be used in the inneror outer layer.7. Requirements7.1 GeneralThe inside and outside surfaces of pipe pro-duced in accordance with this specification shall be free ofchalking, sticky, or tacky material. The surfaces shall be
40、free ofexcessive bloom. Bloom or chalking may develop in pipeexposed to direct rays of the sun (ultraviolet radiant energy) forextended periods and consequently, these requirements do notapply to pipe after extended exposure to direct rays of the sun.The inside and outside surfaces of pipe shall be
41、free of foreigninclusion or other defects that are visible to the naked eye, andmay affect the wall integrity.7.1.1 The requirements in this section are intended only foruse as quality control tests, not as simulated service tests.7.2 Dimensions and Tolerances:7.2.1 Outside DiameterThe outside diame
42、ter and toler-ances shall meet the requirements of Table 1 when measured inaccordance with Method D 2122. The tolerances for out-of-roundness shall apply to the pipe at the time of manufacture.7.2.2 Wall ThicknessThe wall thickness and tolerancesshall meet the requirements of Table 2 when measured i
43、naccordance with Method D 2122.7.2.3 LengthThe pipe shall be in either 10 or 20-ft (3.05or 6.1-m) lengths, unless otherwise specified. The allowabletolerance on the length shall be +12 ,0 in.7.3 Pipe StiffnessThe minimum pipe stiffness at 5 %deflection when measured in accordance with Test MethodD 2
44、412 shall equal or exceed the value in Table 3. The rate ofcrosshead motion shall be 0.20 to 0.25 in./min (5.1 to 6.3mm/min). Three specimens shall be tested. If all three meet thisrequirement, the sample meets this requirement. If one or twofail, additional testing shall be conducted in accordance
45、with7.3.1. If all three fail, the sample does not meet the require-ment.7.3.1 Pipe Stiffness and Lower Confidence LimitIn theevent that one or two of the specimens tested in 7.3 fail to meetthe minimum requirement, the average pipe stiffness of elevenspecimens shall meet or exceed the minimum requir
46、ementgiven in Table 3. The 99 % lower confidence limit (LCL) shallbe within 15 % of the average value.
