ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONX1.1 Physical PropertiesThe physical properties listed inTable X1.1, in addition to those included as requirements of thespecification, are presented for guidance in negotiating with aspecific vendor for their imposition when particularly appro-priate.

26、 These criteria are not included within the specificationbecause their values are averages of results obtained by variousmethods, no one of which is presently agreed upon by the glassindustry as a whole.X1.2 Typical Values for the Mean Coeffcient of LinearThermal ContractionTypical values for the me

These apply to aspecimen of the glass when cooled during the thermal contrac-tion test (see 7.4) from a point above the maximum tempera-ture shown to 30C at a rate not exceeding 1.5

28、C/min.X1.3 Compatible Metals and Sealing Alloys The thermalexpansion characteristics of Type 58 sealing glass are generallysatisfactory for sealing to the alloy covered by SpecificationF15, (nominal composition: 29 % nickel, 17 % cobalt, and53 % iron).ASTM International takes no position respecting
