Scope*1.1 This specification covers requirements and methods oftest for the material, dimensions, and wo

    3、rkmanship ofextruded, compression molded, and injection molded partsmanufactured from PAI.1.2 The properties included in this specification are thoserequired for the compositions covered. Requirements neces-sary to identify particular characteristics important to special-ized applications are descri

    4、bed by the classification systemgiven in Section 5.1.3 This specification allows for the use of recycled mate-rials provided that specification requirements based upon thisspecification are met.1.4 The values stated in English units are to be regarded asstandard in all property and dimensional table

Applications4.1 Typical applications for these parts are for products thatrequire low coefficient of friction, good thermal resistance, andtoughness up t

    18、o 250C. However, usage is not limited to theseapplications. Specific grades are designed for high strength,wear resistance, low coefficient of friction and reinforced forimproved load bearing capacity and non-abrasive wear.5. Classification and Material5.1 Product shape and size as defined in the ap

    19、plicablepurchase order.5.2 This specification covers product manufactured as listedin Table S-PAI. Materials included in the designations refer-ence Classification System D5204 callouts where applicable.5.2.1 The PAI material used in the product is normallycategorized by type, grade, and class depen

    20、ding on resin andfiller compositions as defined in Table S-PAI.5.3 The type, class, and grade are further differentiatedbased on Table S-PAI, Table A, and dimensional requirements,Table I.5.4 Property Tables:5.4.1 Table S-PAI is used to describe manufactured parts.5.4.2 Table I is used to describe p

    21、roducts not included inTable S-PAI via a cell callout that includes the applicable TableS-PAI type and specific properties.5.4.3 To facilitate the incorporation of future or specialmaterials not covered by the Table S-PAI, the “other” category(00) for type, class and grade is shown in the table with

    22、 thebasic properties to be obtained from Table I, as they apply.5.4.4 Reinforcements and Additive MaterialsA symbol(single letter) is to be used for the major reinforcement orcombination, or both, along with two numbers which indicatethe percentage of addition by mass with the tolerances astabulated

    28、e examples illustrate how a one-line, alpha-numeric sequence identify the product composition, commer-cial parameters, and physical characteristics of extruded,compression-molded or injection-molded product. A spacemust be used as a separator between the specification numberand the type designation.

    29、 No separators are needed betweentype, class, and grade. When special notes are to be included,such information shall be preceded by a comma. Physical Property Requirements6.1 The physical property values listed within this specifi-cations tables are to be considered minimum specificationvalues. Any requirement for specific test data for a givenproduction lot shall be specified at

    41、the time of order. Physicalproperties for products not included in Table S-PAI shall bespecified using Table I for extruded, compression- andinjection-molded products.7. Dimensional Requirements7.1 The type, class, and grade is further differentiated by theuse of Table S-PAI, and dimensional require

    42、ments, Tables Aand B. Products shall be produced with the lowest stress levelsfor machined parts and within commercial tolerances asdelineated in Tables A and B. The manner in which thetolerances are obtained is not relevant.7.2 Tubular bar dimensions shall be supplied in the unfin-ished condition,

    43、unless otherwise specified at the time of order.7.3 The maximum allowable camber, or bow, or both, shallbe within the limits referenced in Tables A and B.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 AppearanceThe appearance of products shall be aspublished by the shapes manufacturer.8.2 FinishAll produ

    44、cts shall be free of blisters, wrinkles,cracks, gouges, and defects that restrict commercial use of theproduct. Special surface finish shall be supplied only whenspecified in the purchase order or contract.8.3 DefectsAll products shall be free of voids, dirt,foreign material, and embedded particles

    45、exceeding132-in.(0.8-mm) maximum diameter as defined below.D7292 1848.3.1 The criteria for determining the internal cleanlinessshall be external visual inspection. A maximum number of twointernal defects per square foot of plate or sheet and one footlength of rod or tubular bar is allowed. Clusters

    46、of defects lessthan132-in. (0.8-mm) diameter are to be counted as a singledefect.9. Sampling9.1 Sampling shall be statistically adequate to satisfy therequirements of this specification as applicable.9.2 For purposes of sampling, an inspection lot for exami-nation and tests shall consist of all mate

    47、rial of the same type,class, and grade and nominal size submitted for inspection atone time.10. Number of Tests10.1 Routine lot inspection shall consist of all the criteriaspecified in the applicable product tables.10.2 The criteria listed in these product tables and defini-tions are sufficient to e

    48、stablish conformity of the shape to thisspecification. When the number of test specimens is not statedin the test method, a single determination is sufficient. If morethan a single determination is made, the results shall beaveraged. The final result shall conform to the requirementsprescribed in th

    49、is specification.11. Test Conditions11.1 Conditioning of SpecimensThe specification valuesand dimensions are based on conditioning techniques outlinedin Procedure A of Practice D618.11.2 Standard ConditionsThe tests shall be conducted atthe standard laboratory conditions of 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C)and 50 6 10 % RH.12. Test Methods12.1 Tensile stress at break, elongation at break, and tensilemodulus shall be determined in accordance with Test MethodD638 at a rate of 0.1 in./min.12.2 Glass transition Tg in accordance with Test Metho
