1、Designation: D 7173 05Standard Practice forDetermining the Separation Tendency of Polymer fromPolymer Modified Asphalt1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 7173; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the

2、year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This practice describes a laboratory procedure for de-termining the tendency of polymer to separate from poly

Summary of Practice3.1 A measured quantity of polymer modified asphalt in asealed aluminum tube is conditioned in a vertical position for48 h at a temperature of 163 6 5C (325 6

Tests chosen for this purpose depend onthe polymer modification system being evaluated and the typeof information desired by the user. Softening Poi

Significance and Use4.1 Purchasers of polymer modified asphalt need to be givenguidelines on proper storage and handling procedures tomaintain the integrity of material they have purchased. Allow the tube to stand undisturbedin the oven for a
