Terminology3.1 DefinitionsThe terminology used in this classificationsystem is in accordance with Terminologies D 883 and D 1600.4. Classification4.1 Poly(phenylene sulfide) materials are classified accord-ing to t

20、heir composition. These classes are subdivided intogrades as shown in the Basic Property Table (Table PPS).NOTE 3An example of this classification system for fiberglass rein-forced poly(phenylene sulfide) is given as follows: The designationPPS011G40 indicates the following:PPS = poly(phenylene sulf

22、 shown in Table PPS. The basic properties of these materialscan be obtained from Table A as they apply.4.2 Reinforced, filled, and unfilled versions of poly(phe-nylene sulfide) materials that are not in Table PPS are classifiedin accordance with Tables PPS, A, and B. Table PPS is firstused to specif

23、y the groups and class of poly(phenylene sulfide).Table A then is used to specify the property requirements afterthe addition or reinforcements, pigments, fillers, or lubricantsat the nominal level indicated (see 4.2.1) or Table B is used tospecify the property requirements of unfilled/unreinforcedv

24、ersions of poly(phenylene sulfide).4.2.1 Reinforced versions of the basic materials are identi-fied by a single letter than indicates the reinforcement used andtwo digits that indicate the nominal quantity in percent byweight; thus, a letter designation G for glass-reinforced and 30for percent of re

The types and percentages of reinforcements and additivesshould be shown on the suppliers technical data sheet unless they areproprietary in nature. If necessary, additional callout of these reinforce-me
