Scope*1.1 This specification covers requirements and test methodsfor the material, dimensions, and workmanship, and the prop-erties of extruded, compression molded and injection moldedpolyoxymethylene (POM) sheet, plate, rod, and tubular barshapes, excluding pipe and fittings.1.2

    4、 The properties included in this specification are thoserequired for the compositions covered. Section 4 presents aclassification system for defining requirements for particularcharacteristics important to specialized applications.1.3 This specification allows for the use of recycled plastics.1.4 Th

    5、e values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard in all property and dimensional tables. Forreference purposes, SI units are included in Table S-POM andTable 1 only.1.5 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portions, Section 11, of this specification

Classification and Material4.1 Product shape and size as defined in the applicablepurchase order.4.2 This specification covers product as listed in TableS-POM. Products included in the designations reference Clas-sif

    25、ication System D6778 callouts where applicable.4.2.1 The type of POM extruded, compression molded orinjection molded product is categorized by type, grade andclass depending on resin and filler compositions as defined inTable S-POM.4.3 POM shape products are categorized as General Purposeor Recycle

    26、Grade in accordance with the following criteria:4.3.1 Grade 1General Purpose:4.3.1.1 Extruded, compression molded and injectionmolded product made using only 100 % POM resin. Thisspecification allows for the use of polyoxymethylene plasticmaterials that are reconstituted, recovered, or reprocessed,

    27、orcombination thereof, provided that the requirements as statedin this specification are met. It is the responsibility of thesupplier and the buyer of reconstituted, recovered, or repro-cessed polyoxymethylene plastic materials, or combinationthereof, to ensure compliance.     30、e level of centerline porosity needs to bedocumented it will be designated as either low porosity (LP) orP1 (Porosity Level 1) that is determined using the proceduredetailed in 7.4 and will be added to the callout as a suffix (seeExample 2 in 4.6.1.2).4.5 Property Tables:4.5.1 Table S-POM is used to

    31、 describe extruded, compres-sion molded and injection molded products, except where itdoes not cover the product type being considered.4.5.2 Table 1 is used to describe extruded, compressionmolded and injection molded products not included in TableS-POM via a cell callout which includes the applicab

    32、le TableS-POM type and specific properties (Designations 1 through7).4.5.3 To facilitate the incorporation of future or specialmaterials not covered by Table S-POM , the “as specified”category (OO) for type, class and grade is shown on the tablewith the basic properties to be obtained from Table 1,

    33、as theyapply.4.5.4 Reinforcements and Additive MaterialsA symbol(single-letter) will be used for the major reinforcement orcombination, or both, along with two numbers that indicate thepercentage of addition by mass with the tolerances as tabulatedbelow. This must be included in all Table 1 callouts
