A numbe

2、r in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval. A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers finished fabrics woven from“E” electrical glass fiber yarns that are intended as a reinforc-ing material in lamina

These organic materials aretypically removed from the greige fabric and replaced with afinish that is compatible with the resin matrix specified in thecontracting

5、 documentNOTE 1Sizing materials on glass fiber yarns, in most cases, areremoved by various cleaning procedures as a first stage in preparing afinished fabric. When these yarn sizing materials are removed during acleaning procedure they need not be compatible with the subsequent resinmatrix.1.3 The v

Material5.1 The yarn shall be continuous filament, unless otherwisespecified, free of any free alkali metal salts, such as soda orpotash, and foreign particles, dirt, and other impurities.6. Fabric Count6.1 For fabrics listed in Table 1,

21、 the nominal fabric countshall conform to the requirements of Table 1. For fabrics notlisted in Table 1, the nominal fabric count shall be agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier. The average count ofwarp ends shall be within two ends of the nominal count andthe average count of the fillin

22、g picks shall be within two picksof the nominal count.7. Yarn Designations7.1 For fabrics listed in Table 1, the yarn designations shallconform to the requirements of Table 1. For fabrics not listedin Table 1, the yarn designations may be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier. The requir

23、ements of theindividual elements of the designation are specified in Sections8-12.7.1.1 In some cases ECE 225 yarn is specified in Table 1.ECD 225 may be substituted with no significant decrease inproperty performance.8. Yarn Number8.1 For fabrics listed in Table 1, the nominal size-free yarnnumbers

24、 of the yarns designated shall conform to SpecificationD578. For fabrics not listed in Table 1, the nominal size-freeyarn number may be agreed upon between the purchaser andthe supplier.9. Filament Diameter9.1 The nominal filament diameter for the yarns in the fabricshall conform to the nominal rang

25、e for filament diameteraverage values specified in Table 1 of Specification D578.10. Strand Construction10.1 The basis for specifying strand construction is given inSpecification D578. For fabrics listed in Table 1 of thisspecification, the construction of the component strands shallconform to the r

26、equirements of Table1 in Specification D578.For fabrics not listed in Table 1, the construction of thecomponent strands may be agreed upon between the purchaserand the supplier.11. Direction of Twist11.1 The primary twist in the singles strands shall be “Z”twist and the final twist in the plied yarn

27、s shall be “S” twistunless otherwise agreed upon between the purchaser and thesupplier.12. Twist Level12.1 The nominal twist in the component strands and thefinished yarns shall conform to the requirements of Table 1 inSpecification D578 unless otherwise agreed upon between thepurchaser and the supp

28、lier. The tolerances for the primary twistand the final twist shall conform to Table 2 of this specification.13. Fabric Weave Type13.1 For fabrics listed in Table 1, the fabric weave type shallconform to the requirements of Table 1. For fabrics not listedin Table 1, the fabric weave type shall be ag

Breaking Strength16.1 For fabrics listed in Table 1, the minimum breakingstrength shall conform

33、 to the requirements of Table 1. Forfabrics and/or minimum breaking strengths not listed in Table1, the minimum breaking strength shall be agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier. The average breakingstrength for the lot shall exceed the specified breaking strength, and no individual break

34、shall be less than 80 % of the specifiedminimum breaking strength.17. Width17.1 Fabric width shall be agreed upon between the pur-chaser and the supplier. The fabric width, including bothselvages but excluding any feathered edges, shall be nonarrower than the specified width and no more than 13 mm (

35、0.5in) wider than the specified width.NOTE 2During the processing of glass fabrics the selvages may be slitto minimize tension influences. This slit distance is generally excludedwhen measuring the fabric width.18. Length18.1 The fabric roll length, length between splices, andnumber of splices per r

36、oll shall be agreed upon betweenpurchaser and supplier. All splices must be thermoset unlessotherwise agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier.19. Ignition Loss19.1 The ignition loss of finished fabric shall be no less than0.05 % and no more than 0.30 % unless otherwise agreed uponbetween

37、the purchaser and the supplier.NOTE 3In certain cases the limits of the ignition loss may exceed thatdescribed in 19.1. When this limit is known, it must be specified in thecontractual document.19.2 The type of, nominal level of, and tolerances for fabricfinish shall be agreed upon between the purch

The supplier may use his standard practice when itmeets this requirement.22.2 Unless otherwise agreed upon, as when specified in anapplicable contract or purchase order, each roll shall bewrapped in polyethylene

44、not less than 0.05 mm (0.002 in.)thick in such a manner as to ensure that the fabric, duringshipment and storage, will be protected against damage fromexposure to moisture, weather, or any other normal hazard.23. Marking23.1 Each package shall be marked to show the informationlisted below unless spe
