Scope Scope*1.1 This specification defines production tolerances applicable to standard rods, bars, shap

    3、es, and shapes flat sheet pultrudedfrom thermosetting glass-reinforced plastics.1.2 These dimensional tolerances apply to all shapes specified as “standard” by the pultrusion industry.1.3 Custom shapes and products designed for special applications may carry specific tolerances that vary from the st

    4、andard.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.5 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to the test methods po

    5、rtion, Section 4, of this specification:This standarddoes not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Terminology2.1 Definitions:2.1.1 camberthe deviation of the edge or surface from a reference straight line.line with the weight of the pultrusion notminimizing the measurement.2.1.2 flat sheeta rectangular solid pultruded

    7、profile with a width of 12 in. up to and including 78 inches.2.1.3 mean wall thicknessthe average of two or more wall thickness measurements taken at multiple locations.2.1.4 straightnessthe upward deviation of a pultruded shape when resting on a flat surface measured in a manner that theweight of t

    8、he pultruded part minimizes the deviation.2.1.4 unilateral tolerancea tolerance in which the variation is permitted in one direction (either “+” or “-”) from the specifieddimension.3. Dimensional Criteria3.1 Dimensional tolerances for cross sections Cross-sectional dimensions for standard rods, bars

    9、, and shapes shall be prescribedin Table 1.3.2 Length tolerances for standard rods, bars, and shapes shall be as prescribed in Table 2.3.3 Straightness tolerances shall be as prescribed in Table 3 (also see 4.2).3.4 Twist tolerances for bars and shapes shall be as prescribed in Table 4 (also see 4.3

    10、).3.5 Flatness (flat surface) tolerances for bars, solid shapes, and semihollow shapessemihollow shapes, and flat sheet shall be asprescribed in Table 5.3.6 Flatness (flat surface) tolerances of hollow shapes shall be as prescribed in Table 6.3.7 Angularity tolerances for bars and shapes shall be as

United States13.8 Camber tolerances for shapes can be as prescribed in Table 8, if required by the customer. Camber is not specified forstandard shapes but will be a s

    15、pecial customer requirement.3.9 The selection, type, and amount of reinforcements, as well as resin system used, directly affect dimensions. Tolerances shallbe agreed upon between the supplier and the user.3.10 Squareness of end cut for bars, solid shapes, semihollow shapes, and flat sheet shall be

    16、as prescribed in Table 9.4. Test Methods4.1 Obtain the specified tolerances with conventional measuring equipment. Measuring procedures, gages, and fixtures shall beagreed upon between the supplier and the user.4.2 Measure departure from straightness by placing the section on a level table so that t

    17、he arc or departure from straightnessis vertical. Measure the vertical depth of the arc with a feeler gauge, a straightedge, or both.4.3 Measure twist by placing the pultruded section on a flat surface and using an inclinometer. An inclinometer is acommercially available device used to measure the a

    18、ngle of inclination.4.4 Measure angles with protractors or gauges.5.
