14、ength of a 100-mm (4 in.) cemented lap of rollroofing under closely controlled laboratory conditions.5.6.2 SignificanceThe lap strength is of importance onlyfor Type II and Type III cement used in the concealed-nailingmethod of roll roofing application.5.6.3 Test Specimen and Sample:5.6.3.1 Use a sa
15、mple of the actual roll roofing intended foruse with the cement, or use any roofing with a 100-mm (4-in.)wide selvage conforming to the requirements of SpecificationD 249.5.6.3.2 Four test specimens are required. For each speci-men, cut a 25 by 305-mm (1 by 12-in.) transverse strip ofroofing that in
16、cludes the selvage; then cut this strip in half sothat one piece contains the selvage and the other is plain.5.6.3.3 Spread 2.0 g of lap cement evenly over the selvageand set aside for 10 min at 20 to 30C (68 to 86F); then placethe reverse side of the plain half over the cement-coatedselvage in the
17、same manner as a field lap would be made.5.6.3.4 Place a 4.5-kg (10-lb) mass over the cemented lap.The mass shall be large enough to cover the 25 by 100-mm (1by 4-in.) lap completely. After 2 min, remove the mass and agetwo of the specimens for 60 min, and the other two for 24 h at20 to 30C (68 to 8
18、6F).5.6.4 ProcedureTest each specimen immediately after thespecified aging period in accordance with Test Methods D 146,Section 13, except set apart the edges of the clamps 127 mm(5.0 in.) 6 2 %, and use a driven clamp speed of 305 mm (12in.)/min 6 0.7 %. If any specimen fails to meet the minimumval
19、ues specified in Table 1, report the material as failing the lapstrength test.6. Inspection6.1 Inspection of the material shall be as agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier as part of the purchasecontract.7. Rejection and Resubmittal7.1 Failure to conform to any of the requirements prescr
20、ibedin this specification may constitute grounds for rejection. In thecase of rejection, the seller shall have the right to reinspect therejected material and resubmit the lot after removal of thosepackages not conforming to the requirements.8. Packaging and Package Marking8.1 All products shall be
21、packaged and labeled in accor-dance with applicable regulations. Each package shall bemarked to indicate the applicable ASTM specification.
