1、Designation: D2202 00 (Reapproved 2010)Standard Test Method forSlump of Sealants1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D2202; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in pare

2、ntheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method covers a laboratory procedure for thedetermination of the degree of slump of a sealant when used ina vertical joint in a structure.1

3、.2 The values stated in either inch-pound or SI (metric)units are to be separately regarded as the standard. Within thetext, the inch-pound units are shown in parentheses.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility

4、 of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.NOTE 1A related ISO standard is ISO 7390. The user should compareto determine how it differs from this test method.2. Referenced Documents2.1 AS

6、ficance and Use4.1 Excessive sealant slump or sag in a vertical joint maycause improper bead shape or inadequate sealant thickness inthe completed joint. Slump measurements, as described in thistest method, serve to evaluate only this application character-istic; they do not predict the performance

Apparatus5.1 Flow Test Jig, constructed in accordance with Fig. 1 (SIunits) or Fig. 2 (inch-pound units).NOTE 2Most existing flow test jigs have been constructed in inch-pound units. Preferred construction of new jigs is as described in Fig. 1 inSI unit

Precision and Bias411.1 PrecisionThe precision statements for this testmethod were obtained from two separate inter-laboratory tests. In one, five laboratories tested two (2) oil-based

In the other, fourlaboratories tested four (4) solvent release sealants, each induplicate.11.1.1 Repeatability for Oil-Based SealantsAt 95 % con-fidence, a variation of as much as 1.07 mm (0.042 in.) can beexpected between two test resul

21、 oil based sealants was generated bytesting each sealant in triplicate, whereas the procedure in thistest method specifies only duplicate testing.
