Composition and Properties3.1 Both types of pigment shall consist of silica coated withlead silicates and lead chromates and shall conform to th
5、erequirements in Table 1.3.2 The mass color and character of the tint obtained bymixing the pigment with a white pigment shall be the same asthat of a reference sample mutually agreed upon by thepurchaser and the seller.3.3 The oil absorption shall be equal, within agreed upontolerances, to that of
6、a reference sample agreed upon by thepurchaser and the seller.3.4 Particle Size:3.4.1 Type 1This grade is characterized by major amountsof particles in the 6.5- to 28-m range. Coarse particlesretained on a 45-m (No. 325) sieve shall be less than 0.3 %.The maximum specific surface diameter (SSD) shal
7、l be 8.5 m.3.4.2 Type 2This grade is characterized by major amountsof fine-sized particles. In general, the maximum size isessentially below 1.0 to 2.5 m. Coarse particles retained on a45-m (No. 325) sieve shall be less than 0.1 %. The maximumSpecific Surface Diameter (SSD) shall be 2.0 m.3.4.3 Wher

Sampling4.1 Two samples shall be taken at random from differentpackages from each lot, batch, days pack, or other unit ofproduction in a shipment. When no markings distingu
9、ishingbetween units of a production appear, samples shall be takenfrom different packages, in the ratio of two samples for each5000 kg (10 000 lb), except that for shipments of less than10 000 lb two samples shall be taken. At the option of thepurchaser, the samples may be tested separately or after
10、blending in equal quantities the samples from the sameproduction unit to form a composite sample.5. Test Methods5.1 Tests shall be conducted in accordance with the follow-ing ASTM test methods. Test procedures not covered by ASTMtest methods shall be mutually agreed upon by the purchaserand the sell
