    3、ers steel studs, runners (tracks),and bracing or bridging (with a base metal thickness range ofnot less than 0.0329 in. (0.836 mm) for screw application ofgypsum panel products and metal plaster bases in load-bearing(transverse and axial) construction assemblies. Steel of lesserthickness shall be pe

    4、rmitted in additional engineered products.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. Terminology3.1 Definitions: Definitions shall be in accordance withTerminology C11.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 members, nstuds, runners, tracks, bracing, bridging,accessorie

    10、s or other items manufactured in accordance withthis standard.3.2.2 structural member, na member in a steel framedsystem in which the loading exceeds any of the followingconditions: a transverse load of 20 lbf/ft (290 N/m) of memberlength, or an axial load, exclusive of sheathing, of 200 lbf (890N)

Materials and Manufacture4.1 Members shall be manufactured from steel meeting therequirements of Specification A 1003/A 1003M.4.2 The minimum steel thickness (base steel) shall be notless than 0.0329 in. (0.84 mm).4.3 Individual measurements before the application of pro-tective coatin

    12、g shall be not less than 95 % of the specifieddesign thickness.4.4 Members shall have a protective coating in accordancewith Table 1, CP 60 minimum.4.5 Edges of members shall be manufactured to minimizeburrs and sharp edges.4.6 Factory punch-outs, when provided, shall be locatedalong the centerline

    18、l be com-puted in accordance with the AISI Specification for the Designof Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members.5. Performance Requirements5.1 When tested in accordance with Section 8, membersshall be capable of pulling the head of the screw below thesurface of the gypsum panel product without spin o

    19、ut (see Fig.1).6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 Data for calculating design performance shall be sup-plied by the manufacturer.6.2 The width of the surface to which the sheathing board isattached shall be not less than 114 in. (32 mm).6.3 Runners (track) shall be formed in a U-shaped conf

    20、igu-ration, having a depth compatible with that of the studs of thesame nominal size.6.4 Minimum height of runner (track) flanges shall be34 in.(19 mm).6.5 Members shall be manufactured within the limits asshown in Table 2 and Fig. 2.6.6 Bracing and bridging shall have configuration and steelthickne

    21、ss to provide secondary support for the studs in accor-dance with the AISI Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members.7. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance7.1 The steel members shall be free of defects that interferewith the purpose for which they are intended.8. Penetrati

    22、on Test8.1 Significance and UseThis test method provides aprocedure for evaluating the members ability to pull the headof a screw below the surface of the gypsum panel product. Itshall be used to determine compliance with this specification.The degree of performance of this test method with servicep

    31、pment for testing.8.5 Specimen Preparation:8.5.1 Each member to be tested shall be cut into testspecimens not less than 18 in. (460 mm) long.8.5.2 For each test, one piece of gypsum board, 6-in.(152-mm) square, shall be cut not less than 12 in. (305 mm)from the edge or end of the wallboard.8.5.3 For

    32、 each test, four pieces of kraft paper, 2-in. (51-mm)square shall be cut.8.6 Number of Tests and Retests:8.6.1 Five specimens of members shall be tested.8.6.2 If more than one test specimen fails to meet therequirements, two more test specimens shall be chosen forretesting.8.7 ReportReport shall ind

    33、icate all specimens meeting therequirements of this specification if the screw penetrated thesteel and the screw did not spin out; or shall indicate allspecimens failing if the screw did not penetrate the steel, or thescrew spun out.8.8 Precision and BiasNo statement is made about eitherthe precisio

    34、n or bias of this test method since the result merelystates whether or not there is conformance to the criteria forsuccess specified in the procedure.9. Inspection9.1 Inspection of the members shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the producer or supplier as part of thepurchase agreement.10.

    35、 Rejection10.1 When specified in the purchase agreement, membersthat fail to conform to the requirements of this specificationshall be rejected. Rejection shall be reported to the producer orsupplier promptly and in writing. The notice of rejection shallcontain a statement documenting how the member

    36、 has failed toconform to the requirements of this specification and thepurchase agreement.11. Certification11.1 When specified in the purchase agreement, a produc-ers or suppliers report shall be furnished at the time ofshipment certifying that the product is in compliance with thisspecification.12.

    37、 Marking and Identification12.1 Groups of like members shall be marked with a label,or a tag attached thereto.     38、h,flange size, and minimum steel thickness in mils or inchesexclusive of protective coating.12.2 In addition to the marking referenced in 12.1, indi-vidual members shall have a legible label, stencil, or emboss-ment, at a maximum distance of 96 in. (2440 mm) on center, onthe member, with the followi

    39、ng minimum information:12.2.1 The rollformers identification (that is, name, logo, orinitials).12.2.2 The minimum steel thickness, in mils or inches,exclusive of protective coatings.12.2.3 The minimum yield strength in kip per square inch(megapascals).12.2.4 The minimum protective coating shall be i

    40、ndicatedwith the appropriate coating designator in accordance withTable 1.12.3 Where color-coding of members or bundles of likemembers is employed, the standard color-coding in Table 3shall be used.13. Protection13.1 Material shall be protected during shipment as re-quired. When specified in the pur

    41、chase order, the membersshall be packaged in accordance with the purchasers instruc-tions.13.2 Material shall be received and stored in accordancewith AISI COSP, paragraph F3.14.
