Scope1.1 This specification covers pressure consolidated powdermetallurgy iron-nickel-chromium-molybdenum (UNSN08367) and nickel-chromium-molybdenumcolumbium (Nb)(UNS N06625) pipe flanges, fittings, valves, and parts intendedfor general corrosion or heat-resisting service.1.2 The v

Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 can, nthe container used to encapsulate the powderduring the pressure consolidation process; it is removed fromthe final part.3.1.2 compact, nthe consolidated powder from one can; itmay be used to make one or more parts.3.1.3

    9、 fill pin, nthe part of the compact in the spout used tofill the can; it is not usually integral to the part produced.3.1.4 part, na single item coming from a compact, eitherprior to or after machining.3.1.5 powder blend, na homogeneous mixture of powderfrom one or more heats; it is limited to the a

    10、mount that can bemixed in the same blender at one time.3.1.6 rough part, nthe part prior to final machining.4. Ordering Information4.1 Orders for material under this specification shouldinclude the following information:4.1.1 Quantity (weight or number of pieces),4.1.2 Name of material or UNS number

Materials and Manufacture5.1 Ma

    12、nufacturing Practice:5.1.1 Compacts shall be manufactured by placing a singlepowder blend into a can, evacuating the can, and sealing it.     16、product. The entire assembly shall beheated and placed under sufficient pressure for a sufficientperiod of time to ensure that the final consolidated part is fullydense. The compact may represent one part or a number ofparts may be machined from it.5.1.2 The powder shall be produced by vacuum meltin

    17、gfollowed by gas atomization.5.1.3 When powder from more than one heat is used tomake a blend, the heats shall be thoroughly mixed to ensurehomogeneity.5.1.4 When specified on the order, a section of the compactmay be sectioned and the microstructure examined to showporosity and other internal imper

    18、fections. This is usuallyperformed on the fill pin. In such cases, the section location andthe question of acceptable and unacceptable microstructureshall be agreed upon by the manufacturer and the purchaser.5.2 Heat Treatment:5.2.1 Alloy N06625 shall be supplied in the solution an-nealed condition.

    19、 At the option of the producer, the anneal maybe a separate operation following consolidation or may be partof the consolidation process. In either case, the temperatureshall be 1800F minimum.5.2.2 Alloy N08367 shall be supplied in the solution an-nealed condition.5.2.2.1 The heat treatment shall co

    20、nsist of heating to aminimum temperature of 2025F and quenching in water orrapidly cooling by other means.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the requirements forchemical composition prescribed in Table 1.6.2 If a product (check) analysis is performed by thepurchaser, the materi

    21、al shall conform to the product (check)analysis variations prescribed in Table 2.7. Mechanical and Other Requirements7.1 Mechanical PropertiesThe material shall conform tothe requirements for mechanical properties prescribed in Table3 at room temperature.7.2 Hydrostatic TestsAfter machining, valve b

    22、odies, fit-tings, and other pressure-containing parts shall be tested to thehydrostatic shell-test pressures prescribed in ASME/ANSIB16.5 for the applicable steel rating for which the compact isdesigned, and shall show no leaks. Parts ordered under thesespecifications for working pressures other tha

    23、n those listed inthe American National Standard ratings shall be tested to suchpressures as may be agreed upon between the manufacturer andpurchaser.7.2.1 No hydrostatic test is required for welding neck orother flanges.7.2.2 The compact manufacturer is not required to performpressure tests on rough

    24、 parts that are to be finish machined byothers. The fabricator of the finished part is not required topressure test parts that are designed to be pressure containingonly after assembly by welding into a larger structure. How-ever, the manufacturer of such parts is responsible as requiredin 15.1 for

    25、the satisfactory performance of the parts under thefinal test required in 7.2.7.3 DensityThe density shall be determined using samplesuspended from a scale and weighed in air and water usingArchimedes principle. The equipment used shall have accu-racy sufficient for the test. The measured value shal

    26、l not be lessthan 0.3047 lb/in.3(8.452 gm/cm3) for UNS N06625 and0.2904 lb/in.3(8.055 gm/cm3) for UNS N08367. (See Note 1.)NOTE 1The density is a function of alloy variations. Because of this,density differences may be the result of either alloy content or differencesin micro-porosity.7.4 Microstruc

    27、ture ExaminationExaminations shall showsound and reasonably uniform material, free from injuriousporosity, voids, laps, cracks, segregations, and similar objec-tionable defects. The etching can be performed after theconsolidation or final heat treatment. If the sample fails to meetthe requirements o

Dimensions and Permissible Variations8.1 The p

    32、arts shall conform to the sizes and shapes specifiedby the purchaser.9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The parts shall be uniform in quality and condition, andshall be free from injurious imperfections.10. Sampling10.1 LotA lot is defined as follows:10.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall c

    33、onsist of onepowder blend.10.1.2 A lot for mechanical properties shall consist offinished parts with the same dimensions made from the samepowder blend consolidated in the same hot isostatic press usingthe same pressure, temperature, and time parameters andheat-treated in the same final heat-treatme

    34、nt charge.10.1.3 A lot for density shall be all parts from the samecompact.10.2 Test Material Selection:10.2.1 Chemical AnalysisRepresentative samples shall betaken after powder blending or during subsequent processing.10.2.1.1 Check Analysis shall be wholly the responsibilityof the purchaser.10.2.2

    35、 Mechanical PropertiesTest specimens shall betaken from compacts in the final heat-treated condition fromlocations in that lot in order to be representative of that lot.10.2.3 DensityTest specimens shall be taken from the fillpin of each compact after consolidation or after final heat-treatment.11.

Specimen Preparation12.1 The tension test specimens taken from the compactshall be machined to the form and dimensions of the standard2-in. (50.8-mm) gage length tension

    37、test specimen shown inFig. 8 of Test Methods E 8, except as specified in 12.2.12.2 In the case of small sections from which a standard testspecimen (specified in 12.1) cannot be taken, the tension testspecimen shall be as large as feasible and its dimensions shallbe proportional to those shown in Fi

    38、g. 8 of Test Methods E 8.The gage length for measuring elongation shall be four timesthe diameter of the specimen.12.3 For the purpose of tests, extra compacts or test barsshall be provided as necessary. The test specimen, if cut froma flange, shall be cut tangentially from the flange portionapproxi

    39、mately midway between the inner and outer surfacesand approximately midway between the front and back faces.Test bar compacts made separately must be processed in thesame manner as the parts.13. Test Methods13.1 The chemical composition and mechanical propertiesof the material as enumerated in this

    40、specification shall, in thecase of disagreement, be determined in accordance with thefollowing test methods:Test ASTM Test MethodsChemical analysis E 1473Tension E 814. Inspection14.1 If specified, source inspection of the material by thepurchaser at the manufacturers plant shall be made as agreedup

    41、on between the manufacturer and the purchaser as part of thepurchase contract.15. Rejection and Rehearing15.1 Material tested by the purchaser that fails to conform tothe requirements of this specification may be rejected. Rejec-tion should be reported to the supplier promptly and in writing.In case

    42、 of dissatisfaction with the results of the test, theproducer or supplier may make claim for a rehearing.16. Certification16.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, aproducers or suppliers certification shall be furnished to thepurchaser stating that the material was manufactured, sample

    43、d,tested, and inspected in accordance with this specification andhas been found to meet its requirements. When specified in thepurchase order or contract, a report of the test results shall befurnished.17. Product Marking17.1 Identification marks consisting of the manufacturerssymbol or name, design

    44、ation of service rating, specificationnumber, grade of material, and size shall be stamped legibly oneach part in accordance with MSS SP-25, and in such positionas not to injure the usefulness of the part.18. Corrosion TestsS1.1 UNS N06625 shall be tested in ac

    46、cordance with TestMethods G 28 and UNS N08367 in accordance with TestMethods G 48.
