    14、atings may contain antimony,copper, and magnesium in amounts of up to 0.002, 0.1, and 0.05 %, respectively.No harmful effects have ever been noted due to the presence of these elementsup to these concentrations and, therefore, analyses are not required for theseelements.DMagnesium may be specified b

    15、y the buyer up to 0.1 % maximum.EZirconium and titanium may each be specified by the buyer up to 0.02 %maximum.FAluminum may be specified by the buyer up to 12 % maximum.GLead and cadmium, and to a lesser extent tin and antimony, are known tocause intergranular corrosion in zinc-aluminum alloys. For

Materials and Manufacture5.1 The alloys may be made by any approved process.5.2 The material covered by this specification shall be freefrom dross, slag, or other harmful contam

    20、ination.6. Chemical Composition6.1 LimitsThe alloys shall conform to the requirements asto chemical composition prescribed in Table 1. Conformanceshall be determined by the producer by analyzing samplestaken at the time ingots are made. If the producer hasdetermined the chemical composition of the m

    21、etal during thecourse of manufacture, he shall not be required to sample andanalyze the finished product.7. Sampling7.1 See appropriate requirements in Section 6 of Specifica-tion B949.8. Analytical Methods8.1 Method of AnalysisThe determination of chemicalcomposition shall be made in accordance wit

    22、h ICP argonplasma spectrometric (Test Method E1277) or other methods(including spectrochemical methods ISO 3815-1 orISO 3815-2. In case of dispute, the results secured by TestMethod E1277 shall be the basis of acceptance.8.2 A standard practice for X-ray fluorescence spectrometryfor determination of

    23、 cerium and lanthanum in a zinc-5 %aluminum alloy has been established by the International LeadZinc Research Organization (Standard Practice GF-1). In caseof dispute, the results secured by Test Method E1277 shall bethe basis of acceptance.9. Inspection9.1 See Section 9 of Specification B949.10. Re

    24、jection and Rehearing10.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a reh

    25、earing. If the rehearingestablishes that the material does not conform to the require-ments of this specification, as much of the rejected originalmaterial as possible shall be returned to the producer orsupplier.10.2 For additional information see Specification B949,Section 8.11.
