Ordering Information5.1 Contracts or purchase orders for product under thisspecification should include the following information:5.1.1 ASTM designation and year of issue (for example,B 592 XX),5.1.2 Copper Alloy UNS No. designation (for examp

    17、le,C68800),5.1.3 Temper (see Section 8),5.1.4 Dimensions, that is, thickness, width, length, and soforth. (see Section 13),5.1.5 Form, that is, plate, sheet, strip, or rolled bar,5.1.6 How furnished, that is, coils, specific lengths or stocklengths, with or without ends,5.1.7 Quantity, that is, tota

    18、l weight each form, temper, andsize, and5.1.8 Whether material is purchased for agencies of the U.S.government (see Section 12).5.2 The following options are available under this specifi-cation and should be specified in the contract or purchase orderwhen required:5.2.1 Type of edge, that is, slit,

    19、sheared, sawed, squarecorners, round corners, rounded edges, or full rounded edges,and5.2.2 Width and straightness tolerances (see Section 13).6. Material and Manufacture6.1 Material:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a cast bar, cake,slab, and so forth, of Copper Alloy UNS C66300 or C68800

    20、ofsuch purity and soundness as to be suitable for process in to theproducts prescribed herein.6.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability isrequired, the purchaser shall specify the details desired.NOTE 3Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of castingsinto wrought products, i

    21、t is not always practical to identify a specificcasting analysis with a specific quantity of finished material.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot work-ing, cold working, and annealing processes as to produce auniform wrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 Th

    22、e product shall be hot- or cold-worked to thefinished size and subsequently annealed, when required, tomeet the temper properties specified.6.2.3 EdgesSlit edges shall be furnished unless otherwisespecified in the contract or purchase order.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to th

    23、e chemical compositionrequirements specified in Table 1.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements by agreement between themanufacturer and the purchaser.7.3 For alloys in which copper is listed as “

    24、Remainder,”copper is the difference between the sum of results of allelements determined and 100 %. When all elements in Table 1are determined, the sum of the results shall equal at least99.5 %.8. Temper8.1 Products fabricated from these alloys are available in thetempers listed in Table 2 as define

    25、d in Classification B 601.8.1.1 Rolled (H)The standard tempers for rolled materialare as designated in Table 2 with the prefix “H”. Formerdesignations and the standard designations as defined inClassification B 601 are shown.8.1.2 Anneal to Temper (O)The standard tempers ofannealed-to-temper materia

    26、l are as designated in Table 2 withthe prefix “O”. Former designations and the standard designa-tions as defined in Classification B 601 are shown.9. Grain Size for Annealed Tempers9.1 Although no grain size has been established, the productmust be fully recrystallized as determined by Test MethodE1

    27、12.10. Physical Property Requirements10.1 The electrical resistivity requirement of Copper AlloysUNS C66300 and UNS C68800 are listed in Table 3 forinformation only.11.     41、8 18 % minB 592 01 (2006)314.1.1 The sample for chemical analysis shall be taken fromthe pieces selected and combined into one composite sample inaccordance with Practice E 255 for product in its final form.The minimum weight of the composite sample shall be 150 g.14.1.2 Instead of sampling in accor

    42、dance with PracticeE 255, the manufacturer shall have the option of takingsamples at the time the castings are poured or by takingsamples from the semi-finished product.14.1.2.1 When composition of the material has been deter-mined during the course of manufacture, sampling of thefinished product by

    43、 the manufacturer is not required.14.1.3 The number of samples to be taken for determinationof chemical composition shall be as follows:14.1.3.1 When sampled at the time the castings are poured,at least one sample shall be taken for each group of castingspoured from the same source of molten metal.1

    44、4.1.3.2 When sampled from the semi-finished product, atleast one sample shall be taken to represent each 10 000 lb, orfraction thereof, except that not more than one sample shall berequired per piece.14.1.3.3 Only one sample need be taken from the semi-finished product of one cast bar from a single
