    3、ers electric-fusion-welded auste-nitic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipe suitable for corrosiveor high-temperature service, or both, or for general applica-tions.NOTE 1The dimensionless designator NPS (nominal pipe size) hasbeen substituted in this standard for such traditional terms as “nominald

    4、iameter,” “size,” and “nominal size.”1.2 This specification covers the grades of alloy and stain-less steel listed in Table 1. The selection of the proper gradeand requirements for heat treatment shall be at the discretion ofthe purchaser, dependent on the service conditions to beencountered.1.3 Fiv

    5、e classes of pipe are covered as follows:1.3.1 Class 1Pipe shall be double welded by processesemploying filler metal in all passes and shall be completelyradiographed.1.3.2 Class 2Pipe shall be double welded by processesemploying filler metal in all passes. No radiography is re-quired.1.3.3 Class 3P

    6、ipe shall be single welded by processesemploying filler metal in all passes and shall be completelyradiographed.1.3.4 Class 4Same as Class 3 except that the weld passexposed to the inside pipe surface may be made without theaddition of filler metal (see 6.2.2.1 and 6.2.2.2).1.3.5 Class 5Pipe shall b

    7、e double welded by processesemploying filler metal in all passes and shall be spot radio-graphed.1.4 Supplementary requirements covering provisions rang-ing from additional testing to formalized procedures formanufacturing practice are provided. Supplementary Require-ments S1 through S6 are included

    8、 as options to be specifiedwhen desired.1.5 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, theSI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in eachsystem may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each systemshall be used indepen

Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 The definitions in Specification A999/A999M andTerminology A941 are applicable to this specification.4. Ordering Information4.1 It shall be the res

    28、ponsibility of the purchaser to specifyall requirements that are necessary for product under thisspecification. Such requirements to be considered include, butare not limited to, the following:4.1.1 Quantity (feet, metres, or number of lengths),4.1.2 Name of material (electric-fusion-welded pipe),4.

    29、1.3 Grade (Table 1),4.1.4 Class (see 1.3),4.1.5 Size (outside diameter and nominal wall thickness),4.1.6 Length (specific or random),4.1.7 End finish (Section on Ends of Specification A999/A999M),4.1.8 Authorization for repair of plate defects by weldingand subsequent heat treatment without prior ap

General Requirements5.1 Material furnished to this specification shall conform tothe applicable requirements

    32、 of the current edition of Specifi-cation A999/A999M unless otherwise provided herein.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials:6.1.1 The steel plate material shall conform to the require-ments of one of the grades of Specification A240/A240M,listed in Table 1, except as provided in 6.3.2.3.6.2 Weld

    33、ing:6.2.1 The joints shall be full penetration double-welded orsingle-welded butt joints employing fusion welding processesas defined under “Definitions,” ASME Boiler and PressureVessel Code, Section IX. This specification makes no provisionfor any difference in weld quality requirements regardless

    34、ofthe weld joint type employed (single or double) in making theweld. Where backing rings or strips are employed, the ring orstrip material shall be of the same P-Number (Table QW-422of Section IX) as the plate being joined. Backing rings or stripsshall be completely removed after welding, prior to a

    35、nyrequired radiography, and the exposed weld surface shall beexamined visually for conformance to the requirements of6.2.3. Welds made by procedures employing backing strips orrings that remain in place are prohibited. Welding procedures,and welding operators shall be qualified in accordance withASM

    36、E Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX.6.2.2 Except as provided in 6.2.2.1 and 6.2.2.2, welds shallbe made in their entirety by processes involving the depositionof filler metal.6.2.2.1 For Class 4 pipe employing multiple passes, theroot-pass may be without the addition of filler metal.6.2.2.

    37、2 For Class 4 pipe, the weld surface exposed inside thepipe may result from a single pass made from the inside of thepipe without the addition of filler metal.6.2.2.3 All single-welded pipe shall be completely radio-graphed.6.2.3 The weld surface on either side of the weld ispermitted to be flush wi

    38、th the base plate or to have a reasonablyuniform crown, not to exceed18 in. 3 mm. It is permitted atthe option of the manufacturer or by agreement between themanufacturer and purchaser to remove any weld reinforce-ment. The contour of the reinforcement should be reasonablysmooth and free from irregu

    39、larities. The deposited metal shallbe fused uniformly into the plate surface. No concavity ofcontour is permitted unless the resulting thickness of weldmetal is equal to or greater than the minimum thickness of theadjacent base metal.6.2.4 Weld defects shall be repaired by removal to soundmetal and

    40、rewelding. Subsequent heat treatment and examina-tion (that is, visual, radiographic, and dye penetrant) shall be asrequired on the original welds.6.3 Heat Treatment:6.3.1 Unless otherwise stated in the order, all pipe shall befurnished in the heat-treated condition in accordance with therequirement

    41、s of Table 2.6.3.2 The purchase order shall specify one of the followingconditions if the heat-treated condition specified in 6.3.1 is notdesired by the purchaser:6.3.2.1 A final heat-treatment temperature under 1900 F1040 CEach pipe supplied under this requirement shall bestenciled with the final h

    45、1065C may impair the resistance to intergranular corrosion aftersubsequent exposure to sensitizing conditions in Grades 321,321H, 347, 347H, and 348. When specified by the purchaser, alower temperature stabilization or re-solution anneal shall beused subsequent to the initial high temperature soluti

    46、on anneal(see Supplementary Requirement S5).7. Chemical Composition7.1 The chemical composition of the plate shall conform tothe requirements of the applicable specification and gradelisted in Specification A240/A240M.7.2 Except for Grade S34751, the chemical composition ofthe welding filler metal s

    47、hall conform to the requirements ofthe applicable AWS specification for the corresponding gradeshown in Table 1, or shall conform to the chemical composi-tion specified for the plate in Specification A240/A240M,orshall, subject to purchaser approval, be a filler metal morehighly alloyed than the base metal when needed for corrosionresistance or other properties. Use of a filler metal other thanthat listed in Table 1 or conforming
